Great weekend away - 20 of us (adults and little people) hired the whole house for a weekend. The small bar was especially enjoyed my some and all had a good time. Kitchen is well set up to cater for big groups, lovely dining room where everyone could sit and eat together and a log fire to sit around. We... More

New Ing Lodge is a sturdy stone farmhouse and former inn converted into a friendly hostel. Spacious with big bedrooms, good facilities and an attractive setting, perfect as a base for the Lakes and Dales or as a stepping-stone to Scotland. Enjoy relaxing by the wood-fired stove in the lounge whilst making use of the free wifi. The Roman mystery... More

I stopped over one night and I genuinely couldn't fault the service and hospitality I received. New Ing was perfectly clean and tidy, warm and welcoming and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending stopping here. Scott has a fantastic host and we were greeted with a smile and were welcomed into the lodge. The food was on point, especially the yummy... More

We chose this place to stay after searching Booking.com and reading reviews on Trip Advisor when we were travelling from the Yorkshire Dales to Scotland. We were shown to a very sparse, dated room although the shower was good. The bed was very soft and lumpy and definitely past its best. The breakfast had rave reviews but we were not... More

Our favourite C2C stopover. The room was vast, the welcome was brilliant with good services for hikers (washing & drying etc), the food was delicious and well priced, the little bar had some decent beer on and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Top spot.

Recently stayed here and was impressed by the facilities and the space available. Very nice people and great community area for socialising. A little miffed the bar closed so early, 9.30pm, but an early night was probably needed.

Arrived at 1.30am and woke up Scott. Not only was he welcoming but asked if we were hungry although he was clearly knackered. Great room and because we were late he placed in the individual rooms at reduced cost. I will be returning to this place....

We were dead on our feet after badly getting it wrong walking from Rosthwaite to Shap. A team member went over on their heals and hobbled the last 10 miles. We didn't arrive till 01:30. What an amazing welcome from Scot. We called at midnight clearly waking him. No sweat he said. Call me when you get here. We did... More

We stumbled across New Ing Lodge while doing the coast to coast walk. Eva was on hand to help us settle in, it was £7 for a pitch which included use of the dry room and shower which was luxury after rough camping for the previous stages of the walk. They have a small bar which serves good ale and... More
