Had a family meal here and were made to feel very welcome. The ale brewed on site was excellent. Warm atmosphere and friendly staff. Our dog was welcome too and there was plenty of space. Steak and ale pie very good.

I’m pretty sure they would make you sandwiches in the pub if you asked them. There isn’t really anywhere else near unless you drive to Gosforth. The Strands is pretty remote, but that’s the beauty of it.

"Rooms in The Screes are probably quieter as this is an annex of The Strands Think all rooms have a view."
