I don't really rate this hotel! It relies heavily on the location and people paying for the gorgeous views of the lake! It is self service for food buffet style which I hate as the food is not as fresh as you would like! There are no free toiletries which given the price of the room is annoying and rooms...

A lovely hotel in a super location. The weather was lovely and the surrounding countryside beautiful. Breakfast was very good and the room was spacious and comfortable. We used the spa. It was quite nice. It is an old hotel but perfectly suitable. We had a back room facing onto a zen garden which was very quiet.

Yes, the decor is dated in the rooms but they are clean, the high ceilings and period features make up for this. The communal areas with the original Victorian fire are delightful. I noticed that the gardens and the footpaths were immaculate too. The staff were friendly and helpful, even offering to add my cappuccino in a takeaway cut to...

The hotel looks lovely. It is in a great spot for walking around Wasdale, Waswater and as a base for the hills in the area. The décor is a little tired, particularly in the bar and dining room. The food was very good at breakfast. Our evening meal was mixed. My partner had the special, which was delicious. I had...

Great location, and rooms are really nice and comfy. Bar, which overlooks lake Windermere and has outside tables and chairs, is lovely and not overpriced like most hotel bars. We also hired a motorboat to explore the lake and were able to do this from the water sports area located less than 200 metres from the front of the hotel.

Inexpensive, clean, quiet, safe, warm, simply-furnished double room in the annex. Food is simple, well cooked, reasonable wine list Very early breakfast is very welcome for walkers wanting an early start Good wi-fi signal in bedroom

Last minute booking at Low Wood hotel and everything was great. Nice welcome on arrival, great breakfast. Staff are very knowledgeable about the local area including running routes in the hills. Hotel definitely deserves more than two stars.

We stumbled across Low Wood Hall Hotel by accident when The Strand Brewery & Inn wrongly accepted our booking and we have absolutely no regrets. The drive from London on the bank holiday weekend was horrific, it took 9.5 hours so needless to say we were a little twitchy on our arrival! Kaeren checked us in very quickly, let us...

The hotel was in a lovely setting, and our room( no.10) was really lovely. we were in the annex behind the main hotel building, but we still had a great view from our bedroom window of the hills. The bathroom was great with a fantastic shower. There was even a boot tray to put your dirty boots in. The staff...
