We booked this pub as in the middle of nowhere and looking for peace and quiet, walking from the door and to escape and that is what we got in droves. A long drive after work on Friday but as soon as we arrived - drink in had in the bar - we relaxed. So peaceful - really enjoyed our...

Staying locally, we had dinner here tonight. The food was delicious however, we must mention our waiter, Klaus, newly arrived from Latvia. What an asset, calm and so pleasant as we 'grilled' him over his journey to Little Langdale..a great ambassador for his employers. A terrific experience. Oh, and everyone else was lovely too!

Just spent a week in Little Langdale, the Three Shires is a warm welcoming pub/restaurant. Ate here numerous times during the visit, each time with our dog and each occasion the food was great. Local produce, local beer. We were made to feel welcome, great friendly service, what more could you ask for.

Staying at Dale View cottage (two doors up) for a weekend. Such a lovely local pub. Great food, good service, really accommodating of our large party and bouncy border collie. We went for dinner twice during our stay. Couldn't fault it.

Great location after a long walk at the Cathedral mine tunnels. There's outdoor seating and it's in the sun in the early afternoon and morning. Lovely even in February! Inside was warm but quite dark and claustrophobic. Menu is uninspiring but the food is pretty tasty. Even being used to London prices, however, we felt pretty disappointed by the amount...

A lovely pre Christmas break. We had a great room with its own sitting room. The real highlight as always is the lovely food the pub serves and open fires. Especially nice to have the residents lounge to chill in by the fire in the evening. friendly staff and a perfect location in our favourite valley in the lakes.

Stopped here for one night (in the suite). After a long day, a pint on arrival next to the fire in the lounge - whilst looking out towards a snow topped wetherlam, was a great welcome. The room was lovely, warm, and spacious, but the shower.....extraordinarily good! Powerful, plentiful, brilliant! Had three course evening meal, great unpretentious tasty deliciousness. Breakfast...

We popped into the Three Shires for lunch during a Lakeland walk. A lovely location offering a warm retreat from the cold winter day outside. Staff were friendly and the service was excellent. The inn was full and very busy but our lunch was served swiftly and efficiently. The homemade soup was wonderful, sandwiches substantial and the ciabatta roll were...

Last minute break with a great weather forecast to a place that has been one of our favourites for many years. What I really like is the cosy feel, which is just what you need after a day on the fells. Plenty of ale and malts, mulled wine and good unpretentious food to put back on the calories that you've...
