It's an old place so if you like minimalist white boxes it's not the place for you. One or two shabby repairs in the bathroom;but everything very clean, fresh and it all works. Bed really good and linen/covers good quality Wonderful view from Bedrooms, Restaurant and beer garden make up for anything; one side looks down the the valley towards...

Whilst this pub had a good range of local beers and ciders and a good size garden, the service and food let it down. There could have been more staff behind the bar as it took a while to be served a drink on two occasions. This may be attributable to the fact it was a warm day but this...

A lamb roast isn't a hard thing to do when you know how to cook and boiled veg is even easier an easier to do for even the modest cook yeah? But think again! Make your lamb bloody and cold and your veg not even cooked and served cold on a mash that's red with the blood of a poor...

Clean, big, modern rooms. Very traditional pub with some great ales/ciders. Food was really good and huge potions! Overall a great hotel just a bit pricey as it is just a traditional BnB and nothing outstanding. The lake view rooms are not lake view however unless you bring binoculars ! Staff were really nice and very helpful and overall no complaints, just...

Room excellent with great views down the valley.Proper Cumbrian breakfast in the mornings which set us up for a full day of exploring the rest of the Lake District. We ate twice in the pub during the evening both times the food and service...

We had a small (21 people) wedding ceremony (non legal as Mortal Man is not licensed) and reception in the Garden Room at the Mortal Man last month. The day was fantastic, and despite it raining all day which meant we didn't get chance to take advantage of the lovely beer garden, it was still felt spacious & bright in...

Visited on a rare sunny day and sat in the ample beer garden with our dog. Very pleasant. I was more happier sat outside than in. The pub with is rather dated and tired. Not a place i'll be rushing to return to.

We walked from Windermere to Troutbeck (2 hours) and found The Mortal Man pub kindly waiting for us. Well worth a visit for good beer and a variety of ciders, a cosy fire-lit bar and scenery to die for. Full of walkers passing through, it seems to attract a happy and chilled out clientele and the food is really good...

Check out the photo of my husband's fish & chips dinner. Delicious! Good selection of food and brew. A challenge to locate. Twisty roads. Lovely views. Ancient! Well worth the drive to the tiny town of Troutbeck, Cumbria. In the Lake District.
