We were fortunate enough to gain a last minute cancellation for the racing weekend and we're delighted with this as we have never stayed overnight on a racing weekend. As expected, the car park behind the hotel was full so we parked at the racecourse. Richard and his team were in full swing setting up the lovely champagne tables outside...

Stayed for 2 nights recently to go to racing. Hotel was basic and in need of refurbishment. Was overpriced for standard of room, supposed to be superior double room which consisted of two single beds pushed together. Drink and food was overpriced although on a positive note fish pie was lovely. Breakfast was average , no effort made. Wouldn't rush...

My Wife and I stayed for 1 night (25th). The welcome was friendly, and in fact the staff were brilliant without exception. The owner is a really nice guy and he made us feel welcome. The room was ok. The food was great and the beer was excellent. The gin list was very good and my wife enjoyed choosing from...

Wow! What can I say, I'm sat eating my breakfast on our first morning after a fantastic night sleep in the comfy bed, next to a fireplace filled with fairy lights! My dream come true. I start my first job as a teacher in September and what I perfect way to end my summer holidays! Staff are all lovely and...

The list of gins outside bought us in and happy we did. The food was fantastic. staff welcoming, friendly and very polite. We had Rarebit, a vege burger and two gins came to £30 so very reasonable. Might have to try the accommodation next time.

We stayed here for 3 nights on a deal which included breakfast. The downside was that we got a tiny room! We did see some other rooms on the day we left and I would recommend you look into paying extra for one of those. Also bear in mind that it is a 350 year old coaching inn and therefore...

Arrived on a quiet Sunday after a five hour trip to get there. We had booked a luxury double room and had e mail confirming this. On arrival the young girl at bar/ reception took my name and then had puzzled look on her face as our name wasn't there so she got a young guy, think his name is...

Thank you for your review, Firstly can I apologise for the mix up with your room, We had a couple of rooms with similar sounding names, and earlier in the day another member of staff inadvertently mis-heard a name and put you and the other guest in the wrong rooms. William was no way to blame , in fact he...
