While we note that accommodation in Cartmel is on the slightly pricey side due to the outstanding reputation of restaurants in the village, we did feel that The Priory was a little expensive for what it was in comparison to other places. Our executive room was ok but had quite a small bathroom and the bedroom did not have a... More

We were looking for somewhere to have lunch and found this lovely place. Friendly and welcoming staff, food nicely presented, tasty and a reasonable price. Ate inside in a small dining room which was nicely furnished and felt very homely, Would definitely recommend.

We just returned after a short stay at this beautiful hotel. The rooms were lovely & clean too. Great location. Our only disappointment was the hotel did not serve food in the evenings. On the plus side Breakfast was lovely. Also did not feel as welcome as we possibly could. SHAME...

We stayed in one of the cheaper rooms & I must admit I was very surprised by how small it was. The bathroom was tiny & the bed seemed tiny too! We stayed while visiting l'enclume which is why the hotels in cartmel are so pricey. The location was very central. Right in the square. We were on the front... More

We stopped here for lunch. Food is great, friendly staff and the bar area is dog friendly. Makes a change from sitting outside all the time. The evening menu looked fantastic unfortunately we were driving home after lunch. Defiantly will be back.

Lovely hotel. Friendly staff. Wish we'd had dinner here as the menu looked lovely. We only stayed for one night as they did not have vacancies for 2 nights. We ended up staying at L'enclume which surprisingly was very disappointing! Hoping to return very soon to The Priory.

Basic, friendly service, great location, comfortable and clean. It's just what you need when exploring the region. Decent breakfast, close to an excellent coffee shop and great restaurants and walking distance around the entire village + parking right opposite.

We only wanted a coffee and a tea and one scone mid afternoon. No one else in the place, surrounds are pleasant and it was warm enough. The big downside was the de-caff latte was thin and tasteless, the tea ok, but the large scone was stale and hard, served with 2 butter packets no jam offered, disappointing, will not... More

Stayed for two nights as we were going to L'enclume for lunch (amazing). Arrived to find no real reception and nobody really about. Eventually someone turned up and checked us in (pretty easy). We had the front room on the left as you go to the first floor. Nice room. Wifi a bit of an effort to get on but... More

Up for a sales meeting so the whole team together booking a number of rooms. Booked B&B but breakfast doesn't start until 8:30. Obviously not a hotel for business people. Bright green light in the room apparently for fire safety, strange I've not come across this in other places. Very noisy in a village of only a couple of hundred... More
