The Ayesome manor is just north of the main village of Cartmel with lovely views back to the Priory and surrounding fells. The rooms are all nicely furnished and there is a small bar and large lounge where you can sit before or after your meal in front of a real fire. Dinner is served in the period dining room...

When we arrived at Aynsome Manor, we were made to feel most welcome and check-in was quick. The room was dated, as was the bathroom, which was also very cold. There was no radiator in the bathroom, only a towel rail which was switched off. I did switch it on, which was against my better judgement, as you could see...

The owners Chris & Andrea were helpful, friendly & gracious. We stayed a night, dinner & breakfast were lovely. I didn't know what to expect when I booked our stay & now I can say we have no regrets. Only regret is that we only stayed a night ! The room, ambience, amenities, food & service met if not exceeded...

We were apprehensive about staying in the cottage annexe, having had an unhappy experience with a (dingy) hotel annexe elsewhere a few months ago. This was completely different. The two bedrooms are not large but they have refurbished bathrooms and a comfortable lounge downstairs which is perfect for relaxing after dinner. So plenty of space overall and the advantage of...

Spent two nights here after booking l,enclume for a birthday treat for my husband and we needed somewhere close by. It was a short walk (15 mins) to the square in Cartmel so really handy. Not only that the reception and staff are wonderful and sitting in front of a roaring fire with a drink from the bar in reception...

The husband and wide team who run this hotel are a delight-really friendly. The hotel is comfortable and dinner was delicious. Excellent breakfast. An old manor turned into a hotel - pleasantly traditional decor and only about a mile from Cartmel Abbey. The service was friendly and personalised. Relaxing lounge with car service very comfy. Thank you - would highly...
