Our second visit to the Boot and Shoe and our last. We had booked a table for six adults with our three dogs. The pub was very busy as it was Sunday afternoon and there was live music playing. However we had booked a table for 630pm after the music had finished. the landlady advised us of our table which...

Not a very good lunch experience. Two of us ordered the soup which was described as "cream of onion". We got a small bowl of tepid milky water with some bits of greenery floating in it. It was so cold I had to send it back. Having had it heated up in the mircowave it was still tasteless and every...

I visited Greystoke (nr Penrith`) last weekend with one of my grandsons and his fiancee and we decided to have a meal at the Boot `& Shoe Hotel on the Friday evening. Although we had not booked and the place was very busy a young lady quickly found us a table and told us we could even bring our dogs...

Excellent food, great atmosphere and lovely staff. We (unwisely) turned up on a Friday evening without having booked but were well accommodated without any fuss or bother. Good menu, warm cosy setting and a real sense of being a locals "local". A meal at the Boot and Shoe is becoming a traditional treat for us on our periodic visits to...

We visited as two couples on the Coast to Coast cycle ride. Great food and comfortable rooms and staff were very helpful. Cycles placed in secure storage overnight. We would recommend for cyclists passing through.

This s a genuine 'local' pub with B&B facilities (which we haven't used) and an excellent restaurant with a fairly basic menu but with superb food. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere in the pub and restaurant is vibrant! We've been here before and it remains one of our favourite places to eat.

We visited here as two couples, but this restaurant is fit for families or groups dining also. The staff and regulars at the bar were very friendly and welcoming and we had a drink there before being sat at our table. The tables in the part of the restaurant we were in are very close together and you can hear...

Room was very nice, comfortable beds, good bathroom, staff were very helpful and attentive. Breakfast was excellent. We had an evening meal which was superb, many of the other meals looked fantastic that were coming out the kitchen. Very central for Keswick, Penrith, Ullswater etc. Prices were very reasonable, would definately visit again.

Been here a few times for Sunday lunch(great food!) and stayed over for a night during Storm Desmond. This time, stayed two nights. Family run,and hosts Ben and Janet couldn't have done more for us. Our dog was made very welcome. We stayed in Room 4:spacious,en-suite,hospitality tray, and view over the village green. As before, the menu (not run-of-the-mill,and specials board caters for all...

Room very comfortable. Dinner superb but you need to book a table. Breakfast was beyond excellent....staff very good. The dinner menu was very good . Parked outside the pub but plenty of parking nearby. Highly recommend.
