Just popped in for (booked) evening meal as we were camping nearby. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Although it was clearly a busy service, the waiter and waitress were smiley, and responded well to our cheery banter. We ate in the bar area, it was a great atmosphere. The food was awesome: delicious, hot, plentiful. We all (3)...

We visited this pub twice during a week's stay in The Lakes. First for a drink at the end of a walk - it is a lovely little pub in the beautiful village of Stonethwaite; has a nice outside seating area and good cider and beer on tap! Second was for dinner to celebrate a wedding anniversary. Good food and...

Had high expectations for dinner but left disappointed due to hiccups with food. The Langstrath Inn is in the village of Stonethwaite, a lovely 15 min drive from Keswick. Duck and pheasant terrine was served too cold and still had cling film wrapped around. Mackerel pate was good. My wife ordered beef medium rare but received med well and quite...

We only just managed to be seated for our lovely Thursday evening meal (booking advised!). This quaint pub had a beautiful old English vibe! The food was beautiful. I had the pork schnitzel which was tasty! The sauce was something else tho! Highly recommended.

This traditional pub in a very small village is a surprise. Extremely well renovated with modern ensuite bathrooms and rooms that have been tastefully decorated. Friendly staff, good meals wish I could have stayed longer. Highly recommended.

We stayed here during June for a long week end - our room was spacious and clean with a huge bed. The only downside there's no TV and wifi really poor but the views and scenery more than make up for this. The food and wine is excellent with

Great stay during our C2C. Spotless clean bathrooms and nice view from the bedroom. We had our best meal there (fabulous slow-cooked lamb and divine local fish!) and excellent cider on tap! Much more than just pub food.

My mum & dad, girlfriend and me arrived in a lovely cottage in the middle of nowhere- no WiFi, no mobile phone signal, and no BBC2 (for some reason) on the telly. It was our first night, dear reader, and the writer was exhausted after a bit of a nightmare on the A66...every other time I've travelled this road I've...
