We stayed in the Spa Room 5 and it is an amazing room. The views are fantastic and the surrounding area is very nice to explore on foot. The only thing that let the side down was the breakfast, it was OK but service was very slow for what it was! We did try dinner too which followed the slow...

We spent two nights here over a weekend and really enjoyed it. We had room 4 which was huge with great views, so much so that we had breakfast in our room each morning to that we could enjoy them. The food is very good and there is a well priced, varied wine list. The decor maybe a little dated...

There are some places in this world where being there is simply a dream - for me , The Leathes Head is one of these places. In August 2016 I asked my partner of 2 years to marry me, using the hotel as a prop. Both Jane and Jamie (the owners and managers of the hotel) helped me carry out...

We recently had an overnight stay here and were very impressed with the quality of everything. The room was immaculate and the breakfast was delicious. The friendly staff helped to make our stay all the better. We got an excellent deal through Booking.com so the value for money was great. I would definitely recommend a stay here if you want...

What a find. Booked last minute for a wedding and were blown away. Beautiful grounds with stunning views. Beautifully finished rooms and a rosette accredited restaurant. The best thing however was the staff. We were greated by the owners who were genuinely please to welcome us. We tried to book a taxi to take us to the wedding reception but...

A beautiful home in wonderful settings. The staff were very professional and extremely helpful as well as making you feel welcome by being friendly and accommodating. The room was spotless with good provisions and exceptionally clean. We only stopped one night but will certainly return for longer. The breakfast menu gave you a generous choice as well as the evening...

Staff are lovely, nothing too much trouble, breakfast and dinner excellent (post dinner marshmallows and fudge in the conservatory were a lovey treat). If you are wanting a special treat then this is the place to be. Can't wait to go...

This is an ideal base for visiting the northern lakes. A few miles from Keswick in Borrowdale the hotel is a real gem, set amongst trees with a view of the mountains. The room was well equipped and comfortable, the staff very friendly, helpful and efficient and the food was superb with every effort made to cope with unusual dietary...

My husband and I stayed here one night during a two-week trip, and we both agree this was our favorite place we stayed. We loved everything about it ... or room, the grounds, the breakfast, the bar, and especially the friendly staff. We spent part of the evening in the bar with the duty manager serving as bartender ... he...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Leathes Head is a magnificent eleven bedroom Edwardian Country House Hotel, situated in the unspoilt Borrowdale Valley. The hotel is set amongst three acres of private grounds and is surrounded by stunning scenery, meandering rivers and some of the most spectacular fells in North West England. With superb views across the valley and easy access to Keswick, this is the perfect place for a relaxing break. The entire Borrowdale Valley is ringed by glorious fells known and loved by seasoned walkers. Lake cruises, water sports, mountain biking trails and plenty of other Lake District activities are all within easy reach of the hotel. We are proud holders of two AA Rosettes for food, and our guests can enjoy dishes prepared using locally sourced ingredients; sit in the traditional bar to enjoy a drink or watch the wildlife from the comfort of the conservatory windows before retiring to one of the individually furnished bedrooms, with views of the surrounding countryside and hotel gardens.
