We booked this hotel for one night and we were very impressed and would definitely go back. The hotel has an old world charm, the decor is old fashioned but not jaded. Our room was clean and comfortable and the lounge and restaurant have amazing views over the lake and mountains. The grounds are worth exploring. The staff were polite...

I have just returned as a guest to a friend's wedding. This is a perfect venue with plenty of beautiful surroundings for photos. Stayed last Sunday and the hotel, room and spa were all fabulous. I would have given it a 5* except that the service at high tea and in the restaurant that evening was surprisingly poor. It may well have been just that team however as the following morning the service and staff at breakfast were excellent.

The hotel is average for 4 stars. Rooms clean but small. The bathroom shower curtain smelt musty. The staff were ok no problems there all helpful and very smart. Lovely old lakeland hotel in fantastic location, food was to a standard we would expect but for the price you pay you would expect five star service but sadly staff attitudes do not match the standard or quality the hotel is trying to sell.
