We have just had another great stay at Ashiness Farm. It was, as always, clean, warm, cosy, comfortable and welcoming. You have to remember that this is a working farm and so the usual sounds of cows, sheep, ducks and chickens add to the ambience. So not a place for townies who prefer the sound of police sirens, drunks fighting...

Ashness Farm has a fabulous location. There are wonderful views across the Lake, and if you don't want to use your car then there are several walks you can take directly from the Farm. You can also walk down to the Lake and by using the hop-on hop-off Keswick Launch access a range of easy to difficult walks all around...

Lovely bed and breakfast, old renovated farmhouse with loads of character. Rooms were comfortable. friendly host. The views from the farmhouse were stunning, and it was also a good starting point for a walk over the fells behind, even if they are not favourites of Wainwright due to the boggy nature. Within easy distance of Keswick, but far enough away...

A very friendly place to stay. Ann was very welcoming. The breakfast was very nice and cooked fresh for every person. There was a lot of choice from cereal, fresh fruit and yoghurt as well as the cooked breakfast. The room we had was maiden moor which was quite compact but big enough for a couple. There was tea and...

Ann, who runs the farm and B&B, was amazing. My daughter and son in law have stayed three times, my sister and her husband twice. We plan to return. Delicious breakfast; it is worth the wait. Glad my husband drove over Ashness Bridge as it is rather narrow and angled to challenge. Ashness Farm is a great base for Borrowdale...

Ashness is sited a few miles south of Keswick on a hillside with views of the nearby lake. It's a working sheep farm and the B&B side has been thoughtfully renovated; rooms are on the small side but ours (Catbells) had a lovely view towards the hills and water and a superbly comfortable bed. The en-suite bathroom was modern and...

Lovely 17th century B&B. This is a relaxed place. No TV in room so can for once avoid tv. Breakfast is a relaxed affair with time to catch up with other guests. One day we wanted to head off early and Anne was more than happy for early breakfast even cooking the bread extra early. If you want a fast...

The location and views from this farmhouse B and B are breathtaking, however there are some negative aspects. The rooms are very small indeed and the noise of howling and barking from the farm dogs makes sleeping rather difficult. The patience mentioned in the title is necessary at breakfast time.I have never been anywhere that involved such a very long wait to...

Fabulous views, a well stocked bedroom with hot drinks of every variety; a well stocked bathroom with quality products and a good, hot shower. So why terrible? Firstly, these days I'd expect a TV in the room for the price we paid. I don't watch it much but it's nice to have it there late evening and early morning. They...

First stayed at Ashness in 2010 and we have returned since, this time for three nights. Getting to the farmhouse is an event in itself crossing the beautiful Ashness bridge and then then when you arrive the whole of Derwent water is spread out in front of you, the sheep and young lambs, the odd chicken and a farm cat...
