A delightful setting..elegant period house with beautiful garden, melting into the countryside beyond. I had a warm welcome from Anne and her daughter, Amanda, and enjoyed caring hospitality. The rooms were comfortable and visitors needs well thought through. The breakfast was of a high standard and greatly enjoyed! I have made a mental note of this lovely oasis and hope...

This is a very pleasant B&B certainly above average. Mrs Robinson the owner is very pleasant, made booking easy via phone & email. Room very clean and light and airy, if a little dated - perhaps part of the charm! Very good breakfast. This B&B is a good place to explore the southern lake region and the Morcambe Bay Estuary...

I couldn't have been made more welcome on my own for a few days at Barn Close. Anne made sure that I was comfortable and had everything I needed and there was a lovely feeling in their home. Shame so many people miss this lovely corner of Cumbria, sticking to the main towns.

The location and setting is first class. The welcome from owner Anne is both friendly and welcoming. The house is fantastic and husband Mike is an expert on the local and other birdlife, full of useful information that helped us immensely. We had the larger en-suite room that was very comfortable and with plenty space for the two nights that...

Lovely place in the green Cumbria. The Victorian house is perfectly squeaky and cosy, the two rooms are comfortable, Mrs. Robinson affable, unobtrusive and very kind. The garden is simply beautiful beyond word and the breakfast mouthwatering. Been there two times, always with too much to do to simply enjoy the quiet and beautiful simplicity of the place. Will be...

Stayed at Barn Close with my brother, mother and father. Mum is a very keen gardener and avid twitcher - so both her loves were fulfilled at this B&B! We stayed in a lovely fresh and well-decorated room overlooking the garden - mum using binoculars to watch the variety of birds at the birdfeeder. Breakfast was very tasty with high...

Wow is the word when you come down the drive & see the house. Beautiful gardens in a very peaceful setting. Mike took us to our room a twin over looking the garden. A lovely homely room spotlessly clean as was the bathroom which had a bath & shower. The beds were really comfortable & we had a good nights...

Annie and Mike provide welcome hospitality with good tips on where to eat, places to visit, and local sights, not to mention local bird and wildlife. The house is spacious with comfortable rooms and is set in Annie's lovely garden. Breakfasts are excellent too!

I stayed at Barn Close recently whilst attending a training course in the area and I could not have hoped for a better place to stay. Anne was fab - she was warm and welcoming and cooked the most fantastic breakfasts every day. It is a lovely house with a beautiful garden and despite being within easy access of the...
