A wonderful stay at this gorgeous hotel and location. Can't wait to revisit. The room was stunning, as was the food and service. It's a lovely place for couples, very romantic and lots to see and do around the area. Very happy customers. The bar is a great place to visit, can't believe it's not that old, it looks so...

My sister in law was going for her wedding tasting so invited some additional family for the normal menu. Well what can I say ... I had the risotto to start which was creamy and flavoursome. Steak followed which was delicious and I had banana cake for pudding which was devine. The price of our 3 courses was a lot...

Absolutely stunning location for a wedding! The castle and grounds are perfect, peacocks walking around, option of bird of prey delivering wedding rings, it really is quite spectacular. The day was wonderful the food served efficiently, delicious, piping hot. However....... on arrival the room wasn't ready - the reason, there had been a wedding that day and the bride had...

We went for dinner and a night away, a surprise for my wife. Fantastic setting an overall we were impressed. It's just the attention to detail that lets the place down. Having checked in the chap on reception said "I'll show you to your room". This actually meant leading us out of the door, pointing us down the corridor and...

We arrived at Peckforton castle for a 2 night break away, and were immediately impressed by the grounds and building. The castle is beautiful, the location remote and the rooms excellent. The problem however, was the staff... About a week before arrival I decided to book a table in the 1851 restaurant, but I was told it was fully booked....

We have stayed here before so thought we would have a lovely time once again. Unfortunately, we should have had a lovely room up in the tower, but I couldn't make it up there as I use a walking aid so can't manage steps very well and it was three floors up from the last lift stop. Due to this...

The location is probably the best part about this hotel. As for its old-fashioned castle charm, it wasn't as old as I expected. The room was nothing special; it was quite modern and comparable to rooms in chain hotels in the UK. I expected the decor of the room and the corridors would reflect the hotel's exterior, but they failed...

We booked afternoon tea literally only 30 mins before arrival. They managed to fit 7 of us in. Catered to all our needs and even gave a little extra as it was a family members birthday. The food was lovely. Setting was beautiful. We even got shown around the venue, the rooms and would love to return for a stay...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to Peckforton Castle - An enchanting Hotel in the heart of Cheshire. Rising majestically above the Cheshire landscape, the castle is both enigmatic and enchanting. Originally the home of Lord Tollemache and built in the early 19th Century, this Grade I listed building is the only intact medieval style Castle in the country. Over the years the castle has been the location for numerous movies including Robin Hood and Dr Who. Now owned by the Naylor family, the stunning exterior has been complemented by a loving and considered restoration programme resulting in a magnificent hotel and venue offering contemporary luxury and impeccable service. Services include 48 stunning individual guest rooms, conference, events, and wedding facilities for up to 180. Tranquility beauty, on site Falconry and team activities all adding up to a rather magical experience. Dining at the Castle truly is a special occasion, welcoming the public as well as hotel guests. The 1851 Restaurant offers a dining experience fit for royalty. Holder of 3 AA Rosettes and a Taste Cheshire Award. Alternatively the more informal and cosmopolitan 2010 Brasserie, located in the former scullery of the castle, features many of the amazing features of the original scullery including two cast iron cooking ranges dating back to the 1840's. Peckforton Castle's enchanting medieval style beauty and stunning location make it a truly impressive and desirable venue for weddings, christenings, birthday parties, or just about anything that's worth celebrating. Everything plays a part; the fabulous setting, stunning location, the attentive service and smiling faces, the bespoke menus and decorations. A magnificent venue for conferencing and meetings. Within the medieval walls, old and new combine seamlessly to offer state of the art multi media and conference facilities. Captivating on arrival, Peckforton Castle's unspoilt, natural beauty will stimulate and motivate, delight the eye, inspire the mind, tantalise the taste buds and leave you enchanted. ... more   less
