We were booked in for a couple of nights with relos who had found Peckforton Castle and a great find it turned out to be. Excellent service, food and accommodation in a very pleasant, quiet setting (well at least when there are no weddings taking place- can't speak for the quietude if there are!). If you get allocate the rooms...

So difficult to know where to start. The Castle will wow you as you first see it on the drive in to stay or dine here. It is amazing and huge and cannot fail to impress. The accommodation is good, nice large beds, massive heavy curtains (needed against the large windows and cold winters), functional bathrooms and warm enough in...

Stayed here one night for a bit of fun, as we spent the afternoon driving a Discovery Sport through mud, deep water and inclined rocky shelves (great experience ) and the hotel is just across the courtyard. Staff very friendly at check in, the Executive room booked ( Bickerton I think) was on the first floor and well appointed if...

Thank you for your review! It's great to hear that you have enjoyed your time with us, our staff have been helpful and that you have had a great Land Rover Experience! The music in the Wine Cellar should always be appropriate to the atmosphere, and it's good to hear that this was corrected! Thank you for your feedback, and...

Firstly, don't complain about the remote location. In this day and age there is no excuse for booking somewhere in the middle of nowhere. Use a map. Want a city break? Then book one. Staff miserable? Then treat them better. We found them to be excellent, everyone acknowledged us whatever the position. The food was superb. Limit the menu and...

We enjoyed an excellent three course dinner and breakfast at the castle. My husband was particularly impressed by the quality of the roast dinner! Rooms were very comfortable but we were disturbed by other guests retuning to their rooms in the early hours. The staff were very friendly and attentive. It has a very nice setting but if you don't...

The wedding was beautiful. The castle is stunning, staff helpful, food delicious. However, we were left perplexed that a hotel of this standard should have let us down. We booked what we thought was a deluxe room (no 401) for £195 pounds per night. The only direct route to it was up a very chilly stone spiral staircase of 68...

Thank you for your review! I am very pleased that you have enjoyed the wedding with us, found the castle stunning, the food delicious, and that our staff have been helpful. My daughter and I stayed at Peckforton Castle, arriving on Christmas Eve and staying overnight for lunch on Christmas Day. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to Peckforton Castle - An enchanting Hotel in the heart of Cheshire. Rising majestically above the Cheshire landscape, the castle is both enigmatic and enchanting. Originally the home of Lord Tollemache and built in the early 19th Century, this Grade I listed building is the only intact medieval style Castle in the country. Over the years the castle has been the location for numerous movies including Robin Hood and Dr Who. Now owned by the Naylor family, the stunning exterior has been complemented by a loving and considered restoration programme resulting in a magnificent hotel and venue offering contemporary luxury and impeccable service. Services include 48 stunning individual guest rooms, conference, events, and wedding facilities for up to 180. Tranquility beauty, on site Falconry and team activities all adding up to a rather magical experience. Dining at the Castle truly is a special occasion, welcoming the public as well as hotel guests. The 1851 Restaurant offers a dining experience fit for royalty. Holder of 3 AA Rosettes and a Taste Cheshire Award. Alternatively the more informal and cosmopolitan 2010 Brasserie, located in the former scullery of the castle, features many of the amazing features of the original scullery including two cast iron cooking ranges dating back to the 1840's. Peckforton Castle's enchanting medieval style beauty and stunning location make it a truly impressive and desirable venue for weddings, christenings, birthday parties, or just about anything that's worth celebrating. Everything plays a part; the fabulous setting, stunning location, the attentive service and smiling faces, the bespoke menus and decorations. A magnificent venue for conferencing and meetings. Within the medieval walls, old and new combine seamlessly to offer state of the art multi media and conference facilities. Captivating on arrival, Peckforton Castle's unspoilt, natural beauty will stimulate and motivate, delight the eye, inspire the mind, tantalise the taste buds and leave you enchanted. ... more   less
