We tried to book in on an ad-hoc basis to another B&B but they were full and the Boars Head was recommended to us. We walked into a traditional pub with spacious public areas. Once we had paid for the room we were shown up and whilst the pub is very traditional, the letting rooms were quite contemporary and extremely...

Stayed two nights. The staff were friendly and helpful, can't fault the service at all. The room I stayed in was clean, large and had the usual tea/coffee making facilities and a TV. Free WIFI. The food was average pub grub - steak, chips, burgers etc. The open fire in the bar was nice. One not-so-great part was the noise...

Overall very good, but the lighting on the stairs going up to the rooms is very low, could have been brighter and the coffee in our room was empty, overall good food.would go again as food was included in price, was there 2 nights on a training course locally.

This pub is old, inside the pub its a typical olde worlde big roomed, folky type pub, you would expect the rooms to be the same, looking like it needs a little tlc. Well, the bedrooms are gorgeous, spacious, comfortable bed, lovely décor and bedding and supremely clean, and I mean, clean. Breakfast lovely, served by a local lady who...

From the outside the hotel looks very ordinary, and the bar area gives the feeling of a friendly local pub. The rooms are very nice. Good standard, clean and with plenty of space. English breakfast is first class. Staff are very obliging. Definitely stay here again.

Stayed here as located near office I was visiting, whilst the rooms were lovely and clean, the noise from the bar was unbearable. No phones in room so couldn't phone down! This is basically a pub with rooms above it so if you're looking for a lively night then ideal, for me on business it was nightmare, not for me....

I spent 2 nights here, would have been very happy to have stayed longer and will definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area. The room and bathroom were spotless, with crisp white sheets and duvet, friendly staff, and the owners went WAY above and beyond to help me any way they could, especially once they discovered I...

The stand out feature of this 2 night stay was the quality of the bathroom - it was superb. The cleanliness of the room must also receive the highest of praises. Breakfast was also excellent, with a range of buffet, continental or cooked available. During my stay, there was an open mic evening which attracted a large crowd to the...

We are just leaving here today after a 3 night stay. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly and our room was clean and welcoming. The English breakfast was lovely and we will definitely stay again. Yes, there was some late night noise, but only to be expected when you book into a pub ... definitely not loud enough to...

Me and my husband stayed for just 1 night , the room was lovely and clean, the staff very friendly, good full english and selection of cereals all included in the price. Free wi-fi , the only downside was it was a little bit noisy but I slept ok. Nice affordable break.
