From the exterior it looks like a scruffy pub, but do not let this deter you - the rooms and service here were of the highest quality. Rooms were Clean with a Capital C, with a country home feel. Teas and coffees, free wifi and large TV. Although breakfast was served downstairs in the 'scruffy pub' it was in fact...

What a fantastic time we had yet again..! We always get an extremely warm welcome which stays til the moment we drive away. As always the rooms were spotless & the meals beautifully cooked & tasted great. Every year we come back we're treated like family they've not seen for a year & they can't do enough make sure you're...

Fantastic food, friendly staff & regulars'. Can't praise them enough, well worth a visit. The mixed grill is to die for. The meat is obviously from a local butcher & not from a supermarket. Also do B&B but didn't try that

We booked this hotel for the weekend of the Middlewich FAB Festival. As the hotel was being renovated when booked, we were worried rooms would not be ready. But no problem. We arrived just before 11.00am and was met by a very helpful staff member, Natalie. A room was ready and we were able to put our belongings in the room...

Ok so the actual bar area downstairs is a little tired but that's sort of its charm. Great rooms however and really comfy beds - we had the family room so our young daughter could stay with us. Had a great night in the function room downstairs for a private party where Liz and the staff were very friendly and...

We wanted somewhere fairly local for a night with friends. Yes the furniture was a bit tired and they are undergoing some renovations. But it provided everything we needed at a reasonable price. £60 for a twin room. Luckily we were at the back of the hotel and were not disturbed by any noise. 2 of our party stayed up...

To be absolutely honest and totally frank.... this is just a scruffy pub with rooms, it might have friendly staff and the food might be ok( I didn't have the bottle to try it) but this place is rough and all the fixtures and fittings are old and hammered. It's a drinkers pub, loads of blokes well oiled and making...

We tried to book in on an ad-hoc basis to another B&B but they were full and the Boars Head was recommended to us. We walked into a traditional pub with spacious public areas. Once we had paid for the room we were shown up and whilst the pub is very traditional, the letting rooms were quite contemporary and extremely...
