On arrival, driving through the gates, the hotel is impressive and stands in its own large grounds. The golf is currently 9 holes but the layout, fairways and greens all look worth a game. Unfortunately a wonky knee stopped me playing. The rooms are large, clean and well furnished with a big, comfortable double bed. The food was excellent and there was a big breakfast, well cooked by mine host. The hosts and the staff were all very friendly, helpful and easy to get on with
Stayed here for a night with my 9 year old niece in May as we wanted a short and sweet stay whilst visiting Alton Towers! The hotel was literally about 15 minutes from the park and was beautiful. Plenty of parking, great room sizes and lovely food with the friendliest staff. The hotel has a large golf course and also hosts Weddings so had a real mixture of guests depending on what the visit was for. Bed was so comfy and had a great sleep after a full on day at the park. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back again for at least 2 nights next time. Even my niece loved the hotel and was sad to go so soon. Thank you all for a fab stay!
I stayed here with a friend and our teenage sons as a base from which to visit Alton Towers. It is a budget place, so expect that. The rooms were a little in need of decoration, but were clean and had everything you need, and were ensuite. On arrival there was an event in the dining room, which we had to walk through to check into our room. We had to let them know if we wanted dinner in advance and book a time. We had dinner there twice, which was very nice. Some great choices. The cooked breakfast was also very good, though we had some vegetarians with us and they got the order wrong for them one of the days. Some nice grounds to walk around in. I had got the impression that it would be possible to do the putting green from the hotel, but the golf centre is a bit away. I didn't find the fishing lakes either, they were also perhaps at the golf course.…
Stayed here for 1 night as we planned on doing some walking but hurt my foot the day before so had a chilled time instead...room was lovely food was fantastic...best halloumi fries I've ever tasted...staff were lovely and accommodating...we arrived early and they let us check in at 1pm instead of 2pm...definitely be back
So very lucky to call this place my local. We very often meet friends here for a drink and a chat. In the summer it’s glorious to sit in the courtyard, by the fountain and look at the amazing views over the Churnet Valley. The licencees and staff are all wonderful, very friendly and can’t do enough for you. The food is amazing!! Very talented chief, who has worked all over the world and for some celebrities too! With regards to the golf, I don’t play, so I can’t personally comment. However, I know from hearsay, that the quality of the greens (is that the right word?) just keeps getting better and better - thanks to the hardworking greens keeper. The owners are committed to further developing the course AND reopening the back 9 holes. This will become a membership club again, and good news for all you golfers, the Club House will be reopened soon. All in all, this venue is wonderful to have on our doorstep.…
Visited Whiston Hall near Cheadle, Staffordshire for one night, what a fabulous place! This place is fresh and clean and quality. Not only is the building warm and inviting but the owners were too! We had the honeymoon suite which was gorgeous. Pristine white sheets and towels alongside romantic decoration. Breakfast was delicious, again the word quality comes to the fore. We would highly recommend.
Me and my son first visited Whiston Hall in 2020 And fell in love with the hotel and the wonderful staff. We have always stayed in room 5, it’s always been clean, warm and comfortable. Great Bath!! The food at breakfast is lovely and well cooked. We have also enjoyed a few evening meals and never had a complaint. Also a kids menu aswell. Parking is easy and very safe We will always return to Whiston Hall.
We checked in and were warmly greeted by the reception staff on arrival. As it was my father in law's 80th birthday I had emailed the hotel in advance of our visit to advise it was a celebration for us. When my father in law went into his room, he was greeted by lovely balloons, roses, chocolates and a card from the hotel. This was not expected and very well received - thank you so much again for this, it made my father in law's day! We enjoyed a wonderful meal in the restaurant and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We enjoyed steak, beef bourguignon and desert (cheesecake) - all of these dishes were delicious and would thoroughly recommend these. We enjoyed drinks in the bar in the comfort of the sofas and genuinely had a lovely stay at Whiston Hall. The day and night staff were all so accommodating and understanding, we were very grateful of their kindness and hard work. We would recommend this hotel to anyone, the staff will go above and beyond for any guest - thank you.…

Just returned to Whiston Hall for another long weekend What a wonderful place; food excellent, bedrooms spotlessly clean and the staff delightful add all this to an ideal location. The hotel is ideally placed to visit many places including, Alton Towers, Trentham Gardens and Shopping Centre, Buxton, Matlock and the whole of the Peak District with the famous Dove Dale just a few minutes away.
