Xcalak is a wonderful place to visit but it is not for everyone. If you are looking for an all inclusive resort that has constant food and drinks then don't come here! Casa Caracola is a very very clean apartment located right on the beach. The apartment has a comfortable bed and a well equipped kitchen, and the views from...

We stayed here early November 2016. The house is beautiful and spacious. We enjoyed fishing in the lagoon out back. Snorkeling in the waters just out front was beautiful, many fish. We enjoyed the fruit/veg/grocery trucks that went by bringing supplies. Just listen for them beeping as they come up the road. A perfect place to decompress for a while....

My husband, myself, and our 22 year old son, just spent two weeks in Mexico celebrating his graduation from UF. A week of this time was spent at Casa Caracola. I honestly don't know how to articulate the absolute perfection of this time with my family. Everything was perfect! The weather was beautiful! In fact, the temperature was more pleasant...

I stayed at Casa Caracola for a week in June 2016, and thought the entire experience was wonderful. The top floor of the house rents as a unit, and is spacious enough for at least 6 people. It is furnished well, and the views are astounding. The beaches in the Xcalak area are the most pristine that I've seen in...

Our stay at Casa Caracola was fantastic, and our hosts, Giselle and Philipe were gracious, friendly and helpful. The property is beachfront and all the beautiful, and beautifully designed, rooms catch the cool on-shore breeze. There is what most would consider ‘world-class’ snorkeling right off the beach. The entire establishment is off the grid. They collect their own water; both...

We just returned from a perfect 2 weeks at Casa Caracola. We felt we were staying at our own private resort. Everthing we love to do on a vacation was just steps away. From kayaking on the ocean or lagoon, snorkeling in the beautiful turquoise waters over the coral reef to bicycling on the beach road to other remote beaches,...

This was exactly what we were looking for - a quiet area with a breezy terrace, great views and good snorkeling swimming distance from the beach. The suite and grounds were excellent and the whole place is kept immaculate. Can't say enough good things about the owners, they were very accommodating, a pleasure to talk to and truly enjoy having...

I'd have to say that this one's a keeper. Your hosts (owners) are Gisselle and Phillipe and you'll have a hard time finding classier or finer folks than these two! They live on the main floor and rent out the upper. While they respect your privacy, they are always just a shout away if you need help with anything or...

You can do as much or as little as you want at this idyllic vacation spot. Stay in your own apartment as the only guests of a lovely couple, Gisele and Philippe, who will guide you in snorkeling, give you recommendations for activities and restaurants and ply you with coconut milk straight from the shell.

My partner and I and our neighbor decided to visit the area of Xcalak, and we were so glad we did. Casa Caracola is a beautiful apartment on the second floor with plenty of room and exquisite furnishings, primarily made by Philippe and rooms décor by sweet Gisele. The pictures on their website simply do not do justice to the...
