This is one of the cleanest well organised hostels I've stayed at. The kitchen is superior to any hostel I've stated at in Mexico. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great and cooked to order each morning. Our private room was just right. Overall I give this place a big thumbs up!

Beautiful garden, one of the best (complimentary) breakfasts I have had, good rooms and very well located. Another big plus are the storage lockers in the rooms! The staff was very helpful as well, and gave great information about how to best get to nearby attractions like Ek Balam, and of course Chichen Itza. Valladolid itself is a cute little...

I have no cons, so here are some pros: Staff: incredibly helpful and professional. They were so patient with my iffy Spanish, which I was trying to practice, even if English would have been easier at some points. And I was obnoxious and asked TONS of questions about how to do everything. I don't think I could have been that...

This place is like a garden center. Not at all a party place, this is best suited for someone who wants to 'get away' for a bit and have a quiet one.. This place does not have a bar, but can bring your own alcohol. Rooms are old fashioned, all amenities work, this place has a decent, small kitchen. Best...

We were only intending to stay one night in Valladolid but we liked the hostel so much we stayed for 3. It has a calm, welcoming atmosphere and was always clean and neat. The dorm we stayed in was comfortable and had AC and ceiling fans. The best bit of the hostel is the huge back garden where there are...

Dorms are the best value at this place seeing as the private rooms are small with shared outdoor showers and a/c is not included. Whereas dorms the a/c is included. Great communal kitchen with free pasta! Excellent breakfast in the morning. Lovely garden area for being social. We rented bikes here, one of which broke half way through our day...

Very local hostel. Don’t expect it to have AC because it only has "ventilation". The breakfast was good. The kitchen, rooms and all facilities are nice and comfortable. The staffs are very helpful. You can ask them anything and they will help you. They have a couple of folders that have papers of the places one should go to. It’s...

Beautiful hostel! Great rooms, not too big, with multiple fans, showers in and out of room, they were amazing ( great pressure) room balcony doors owned up onto small quiet plaza below. Renting the bikes is a great idea for getting around the city. Gardens extending out the back are like a slice of the jungle, two kitchens and breakfast...

I absolutely loved La Candelaria. It is my all-time favorite hostel. It is beautiful, an excellent value, convenient (close to ruins and cenotes), and has a great laid-back (not party) vibe. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, and hope to return asap.
