four of us went on a cruise, our last port call was Costa Maya. We went on trip advisor and saw a place called Maya Palms Resort and Dive Center. We are not divers. All middle aged women. We called and made a reservation for just the day. We took a cab($20.00) They wanted $10.00 a piece, but we said...

Maya Palms is a sleepy little resort that really spoiled us during our week long dive trip. We arrived at the resort at 7pm after a 4.5 hour van drive from Cancun airport, so we really didn't know what to expect. Our first view was the big Iron Mayan gates and we were warmly greeted immediately by the staff. After...

Firstly, let me say that the diving at this location was phenomenal. If that's what you're looking for, this is the place to find it. The cracks, channels, and swim-throughs in the reef nearby are not to be believed. Turtles, lobsters, barracuda, etc. The dive master, Chacon, was from Spain, and was very knowledgeable about the underwater area, leading us...

My husband and I just returned from our wonderful 10-day stay at the Maya Palms Beach Resort in Costa Maya. From the moment we arrived at their massive Mayan Warrior entrance gates, we knew we where at a very special place. The rooms where right on the beach, very private, clean, air-conditioned, plenty of hot water and fresh flowers each...

My desire for a dive vacation in paradise - away from the crowd and off the beaten path - was fulfilled this January by the exceptional staff and location of Maya Palms Resort. Getting there: In Cancun I rented a car to drive the 4.5 hours to the resort. While planning this vacation I admitted to the owner Doug that...

We went to the Maya Palms resort as an excursion off of a cruise ship. I saw a small review on cruisecritic.com and decided to check it out.. After speaking with Doug (the owner), I decided to book the excursion and it was the BEST thing we did! Maya Palms is a beautiful, small, exclusive resort with the most beautiful...

We visited Maya Palms during a Port day to Costa Maya on a recent cruise. You need to make reservations ahead of time, and go out of the Port City and catch a Taxi, they will take you to Maya Palms (about 20 minutes away). Upon arrival we were met by Pedro (who is fantastic), who showed us to our...

The Maya Palms Resort was first recommeded to us by a good friend who discovered it in 2006. We have enjoyed over 40 cruises to the Carribean over the past several years. With the development of the port of Costa Maya by the cruise ship industry a few years back, we traveled to Mahahual a few times before discovering the...

Maya Palms is a very beautiful and comfortable resort. The villa rooms were spacious and we had an incredible view! The Air-Conditioner runs daily from 6pm till 5am, but rooms stayed cool enough till we were ready to leave for the day. Even though some construction was underway, Catherine(owner) and her staff made us feel very at home. I was...

This was my second trip to Maya Palms. Having been to Maya Palms in 2006. The first thing I noticed was the beach road from town was much wider and smoother. Upon arrival at Maya Palms, I noticed freshly painted buildings. The most obvious improvements were-the giant grass hut added to the back of the front entrance and the addition...
