We had a wonderful stay. We typically stay in Villas with The Westin so this is a different style and different quality. While not as upscale as The Westin, it is clean and comfortable accommodations. 5 gallon water jug in the room. We had a...More
Our two-day stay culminated a vacation that began with a week in a strikingly gorgeous hotel in the heart of Merida, followed by a magnificent overnight in a Guesthouse in Valladolid. Our bungalow at Hotel Akumal Caribe was okay but far from perfect, e.g provided...More

The best snorkeling is a little west down the beach where you see a red flag. It starts at the Secrets resort beach and stretches west-southwest. It is a very easy short swim out past the sea grass where you can see the sea turtles feeding until the reef begins. It is very extensive and has a great variety of fish and live coral. So far the best snorkeling off the beach we have found in Mexico.
