From the minute I stepped out of the bungalow I had to pinch myself that I was actually in such a beautiful place. The location and experience is a 5 pointer and the accommodation a 4. Akumal is so nice I would definitely return. The accommodation we had was the bungalow with fridge which was very close to the beach,...

Our family of 6 just returned from 8 days in bungalows at Hotel Akumal Caribe. We are repeat guests to this amazing place. From Leon, who takes our reservations, to Laura Bush (owner), to the front desk, restaurant staff and maid service, everyone took very good care of our needs and made us feel especially welcome once again to this...

I recently worked with the helpful and responsive Laura (the owner of the hotel) to plan a group stay at the hotel for a nearby workshop. I was impressed with the attentiveness of both Laura and her staff to our needs- she worked with us to create a customized menu from the LolHa restaurant and coordinated different departure and arrival...

i/we have been traveling to akumal and environs for over 30 years and back to hotel akumal caribe over and over and over a certain bliss here - lounging under a beautiful grove of palm trees, the water steps away, this visit so so many turtles and rays just seconds away from your comfy chair (though drawing too many tourists...

We have always stayed at AI resorts here in the Riviera Maya...we are big snorkelers, and come here at least once a year, and have been for over 5 years with our famly of 5, and my wife and I came here by ourselves many times before that, dating back to the 90s. Around 5 years ago, the Grand SIrienis...

Really difficult to review accurately but, on balance, we loved it and would return. The hotel has a glorious setting right on the beach which is well groomed and clean. Security is excellent both on the beach and in the hotel 'grounds'. The dive centre combined with the ecological centre are also excellent and have plenty of 'kit' for hire...

Right on the splendid beach at Akumal, the Hotel Caribe could not be closer to the ocean. Rooms are spacious and airy (a bit too airy in our case, as a faulty screen door was an open invitation the first night to bugs that we subsequently managed to exclude). In mid-September, the hotel was virtually empty - and so was...

I have traveled all over world. I have so many experiences but Akumal is my favorite by far. The accommodations were amazing. Our condo was a one bedroom (upstairs) and the kitchen/living area downstairs. I cannot put into words the view....the beauty. We went out at night looking for turtles looking for their eggs.....I still cannot believe what we witnessed,...

This is NOT an all-inclusive nor is it a huge resort like you will find in Cancun or Playa del Carmen! There are no spring break crowds or parties going round the clock, and the beach bar closes before midnight. On the other hand, it IS a quaint, comfortable, friendly, reasonably priced beach resort that is small enough that the...
