Villa Del Angel made my trip to Ajijic so relaxing and special. I felt completely relaxed and safe in the beautiful property. There are so many sweet little areas on the grounds to enjoy the spectacular views, the almost constant birdsong, and the gorgeous flowers. Right out the back is a trail head for an easy hike. It's a super easy walk into town (I did it several times a day). The breakfast is fresh and plentiful. There's just the right amount of density of guests. The owner and staff are absolutely lovely, generous and easy going. They went out of their way to make sure I had a beautiful week. I hope to be back again soon.

Room Tip: I loved Gabriel. Perfect patio facing the pool, the grounds and the lake. Lots of sunlight.

We spent a tranquil week in this paradise with a pool and hot tub and professional yoga studio. Natural foods breakfast every morning overlooking Lake Chapala, and star gazing at night. This safe walled compound is filled with flowers, fruit trees and hummingbirds. The proprietors and staff are angelic, honest, welcoming and fluent in English. Located in Ajijic village, about a ten minute walk up from the lakefront and restaurants district. They specially welcome yoga and meditation retreat groups arranged in advance. Peaceful, quiet, and all the rooms are good - see each room in photos on their website. They have reliable drivers for airport and for local trips to Tequila (we toured Fontaleza Tequileria, about 2 hours from Ajijic). Located 35 minutes from Guadalajara airport. Interesting fellow guests to chat with in the living room and verandas. We stayed 8 nights, and departing was like leaving the Garden of Eden.

My wife and I stayed for the weekend of 14 to 16 of Feb'20 (wiritng this review before check-out). Despite the facilites and the Villa get 5 stars for being gorgeous and amazing, truly first-class and impeccable, we are VERY DISAPPOINTED with the service and some particularities of the room. THE WORST was when someone from the admin forced and opened our room door at 6:50AM, despite us being inside the room! And instead of saying sorry or just closign right away, the guy started explaining why he was trying to open the door. Unbelievable. THE ROOM we got is just 10 feet of the front desk, hearing pretty much every conversation and have other guests looking into our room everytime we opened the door. For example, during the previous incident, we wanted to go back to bed, but the admin guy was talking to the guests at 6:50AM, and we were hearing everything. ADVICE: Avoid the front desk room. ALSO, the curtains do not cover the whole windows and the light coming from the pool and terrace at night go straight to the room, making very difficult to fall asleep. HOUSEKEEPING, could improve by not leaving the doors opened after they do the room's cleaning! Yes, they left doors opened and we noticed it when we came back from the pool. BREAKFAST, tasty but could improve service. We were 4 persons at 10:25AM on Sat 15th (35 minutes before end of breakfast), and there weren't eggs. We requested more and they only prepared like 2 eggs for the all of us!, of course it was not enough, the eggs were gone in the first 2 persons.

Cannot say too many good things about the property the staff the view the pool the delicious breakfast and the tranquility of Villa Del Angel. Sebastian was very helpful as were all the locals who worked at the villa. The bed was as close to heaven as a bed can be...we will return and we may stay for a few weeks and stay in one of the rooms with a kitchen...and get back into yoga which is available every day onsite.

Impeccably maintained, with a stunning view (see picture) close to the center of Anjijic. Was the perfect choice for the last night of our 10 driving road trip as it made for an easy run to the Guadalajara Airport (40 min). Just wish we had an extra day to enjoy the lovely facilities!
