We stayed for 3 nights this summer with our family. We tented and we’re close to the play ground which was very convenient as the kids were able to go and stay in eye sight to us. Pool was great as well. It’s also very central to everything fun to do in Cavendish We can’t wait to return next year!
The cavendish KOA offers everything we needed for a family vacay with 2 kids under 5 years old. Close to the beach and convenient to lots of tourist attractions, we could not have found a better spot. Everyone who works here obviously loves their job. It’s like they all take ownership of the camp ground. There are daily activities that attract all ages, from outdoor movie nights, to a self led hunt across the campground to chocolate bar bingo! The facilities are all beautifully clean and well cared for. The kids pool is great for the wee ones and their is a bigger pool as well. A+
From the moment we arrived at reception our experience of the staff at this KOA was wonderful. Alana booked us in , super friendly with us and the others there, efficient and quick. Awesome initial welcome. The reception is part of a wee store selling everything you could possibly need. We were given a map to guide us to our campsite. We had a tent and we’re on site 165. This is a delux site and cost $86. Each of the deluxe tent sites include a covered wooden deck/cabana with a big picnic table which has electric sockets and electric light. This turned out to be invaluable as we had torrential rain for an hour or so . The roof of our cabana had a few holes so the water poured through those but there was still room for us to move our table and keep dry. Our site was a little sloped but still had good space for our tent and our vehicle. We were in front of the play area which had tons of stuff going on for all the kids. Place was packed which was awesome. There is a large covered spot that they used for bingo that had an outdoor sink and cooking facilities. This was absolutely spotless and included washing up liquid too. Really nice touch. The washrooms were close buy and again so spotless. So much care is obviously given to the cleanliness at this site. It was super busy and yet everything was beautifully maintained and clean. There’s an on-site cafe where again staff were incredibly friendly. We had great coffee and the next morning had the best breakfast muffins ever. We had the bacon and fried egg ones and they were perfect. On arrival we bought some firewood and instead of us bringing it to our site they offered to deliver it to us at 7 pm just in time to light the fire. Another lovely touch. I genuinely have never met such a wonderfully friendly team. Every single member of staff that we came in contact with was smart, friendly and so very helpful. I am absolutely gonna stay here again and so should you .…
We have camped on road trips from maine to utah! This was one of the better ones weve done in the past 4 years. Tons of kids, but wasnt crazy loud. Nice sites, only place that permitted a campfire. Theyll drop off the wood at your site too. We enjoyed the rc car track. Staff was very helpful with maps and suggestions of places to go/eat too. Our cheapest campground too!!
I will begin by saying I use Trip Advisor often as I travel South atleast annually and sometimes more. I rely on the information provided here and this is the first bad review I ever write! I camped at this campground for 10 days and I really wish I had chosen Marco Polo! This campground does not want children having any fun unless it is at their hosted and supervised events. Also, you cannot play music in the afternoon at your site if you are anywhere near any of the employees sites ( yes, they are spread out in the campground with their own trailers and ready to report you for anything and everything you do ) I honestly feel this campground is run more like a cult then anything else, the workers call the owner " Madame" like who does that! Also, quite hour is strictly enforced so much so that you cannot sit outside with your husband quietly with a glass of wine after 11pm, so if you are like me and by the time your children settle in after sitting at the fire it's already 10:30pm, please choose another campground if you want to sit and have a quiet drink outside by the fire with your significant other ! The grounds are beautiful ( except the pool , smells like pee and cloudy day after day but had it not been for the rest of the stuff I would have let that go ). Honestly, if you want your kids to have fun and you want to relax, Marco Polo is 2 minutes down the road and they are just about complete a brand new splash pad with slides ( go see it , it's beautiful ) . Don't bother wasting your money, I wish I could go back to day 1 and go to Marco Polo for the 10 days !…
First of all the kids had fun I must say that. But dont plan to have a fire at night..quiet time is at 11pm and strongly reinforced to the point of harrassment. I could understand I'd we were being loud however but we were not. Basicly you need to get to bed at 11.Public showers and bathrooms are gross and dirty. We will never say again. Our group was 17 couples in total. Good if your older or small kids and are in bed before quiet time.
I’ve been camping for over 10 years. This camground is absurd. No fires are permitted past 11pm. Strict on that. No music even during the day on your site. Washrooms are old and dirty. Pool is cloudy. They asked us not to come back because we were staying up past 11pm quiet hours. Good camground if your old and boring and don’t have kids. If you do stay away.
We had an unusual situation which proved what fantastic people the owners and staff are, as well as Islanders in general. On the day we were to move to another campground, I had the misfortune of being in intensive care in the Charlottetown hospital. The Cavendish KOA was fully booked for that night and since my wife doesn't drive our motorhome, we didn't know how we were going to move. I called the office to explain our situation, and I believe it was Chelsea I spoke to who said not to worry about a thing, someone would be there to help. When my wife arrived at the motorhome, Victor, the owner of the KOA, and his friend Eric where there. After packing up, Victor set up a spot that wasn't normally available and Eric drove the motorhome over. When I was discharged from the hospital, I was told not to drive right away so we asked Eric if he would drive our motorhome the twenty miles to our new campground. Without hesitation he agreed and put his schedule on hold. We will always be thankful for the compassion and help we received at the Cavendish KOA.…
Our family had a great time at this campground and didn’t want to leave. The staff were wonderful and very helpful and went out of their way to ensure we had a great time! The playground is amazing and good for big and little kids. Outdoor movies was an added bonus and we had firewood delivered right to our site! We highly recommend this site!
