My mother and I rented the Tamarisk cottage for 2 weeks to self isolate before visiting my daughter in Charlottetown. The cottage is older but clean and well equipped. We had a covered front porch so we could sit out even when it was raining. We had wifi, 2 small fridges and a range top. All dishes, pots and pans, and linens were included. There was even a barbeque. Very large quiet property. The 2 weeks passed quite quickly due to the thoughtfulness and care of the owner Julie and her daughter. She brought us little surprises during our time there. She was also close by to talk with and concerned that all our needs were met. She brought firewood every night and even offered to go to the market for us. In all my years of travel I have never met a host like her. I would go back there in a minute but I hope Covid goes away and I don't have to isolate again. Julie was like a friend to us and I was sad to say goodbye. Julies husband is stranded out of the country due to Covid so I hope for her sake he can return soon. Her and her daughter ran the property all by themselves this summer. They are such hardworkers! Always smiling! The view of the bay was beautiful! We also had foxes come for a visit.

It was the second time at this resort, leasing the Lilac unit for only two persons. We were at five minutes in car from the beautiful Brackley beach in the Prince Edward Island National Park. The unit is quiet et well equiped.

I hesitate to mention my very favourite cottages on PEI for fear that their popularity will explode and my spouse and I won't be able to get our usual week here every summer, but I've gotten so much fantastic information from TripAdvisor over the years, here goes:
York Bay Place's cottages are comfortable, reasonably priced, and quiet. They're well off the main road, set apart from each other for privacy and (the best part, to my thinking) they all have a gorgeous view over the back bay and dunes - one of the prettiest views on the Island. The owners, Bruce and Maureen, are lovely and very helpful. We like Brackley Beach because it is away from the craziness of Cavendish, only 15 minutes from Charlottetown, and right around the corner from the beaches of PEI National Park.
Downside? The trade-off for the view is that the cottages aren't really walking distance from the beach - they're about a 5 minute drive, or a slightly longer bike ride, but it is still easy to come back to the cottage for lunch and there's a bakery on the way. Because they're not in the park, you do have to pay for a park pass, which is good until noon the following day.
Everywhere on PEI is beautiful, but these cottages are special.

We've been staying at different cottages in PEI for over a decade. York Bay Place is so far the best -- exceptional for the price and wonderful location near Brackley Beach. Bruce and Maureen and hands down the nicest owners we've ever met. The view from our cottage was spectacular! We will be back!

Just checked out and are already looking forward to a return visit. Our cottage was clean, private, perfectly sized and well upkept. Location is excellent, very close to Cavendish, Charlottetown, and the best beaches on the island. Our view of the ocean was excellent, with a very short walk to the water. Maureen and Bruce made us feel right at home, and made sure we were very comfortable. Thank you!! Highly recommended.

A wonderful spot. Only fifteen minutes from downtown Charlottetown ,It is far enough away from the main road to feel totally private and the location is simply lovely. A terrific spot for children as it is totally safe. The owners, Bruce and Maureen, are welcoming and helpful.
My wife and I enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Our recent stay at York Bay Place was wonderful. Owners, Bruce and Maureen are The Best! Jasmine cottage had everything we needed; it was super clean and included a great view of the water. We truly felt "at home" at York Bay Place--a holiday to remember fondly.

We had such an incredible time at York Bay Place and absolutely will return. Rose Cottage was the perfect size for our party of three and provided a peaceful place to rest and enjoy the island from. Maureen is so lovely and warm and provided everything we needed, including (very thoughtfully) a national park pass to use as we needed. The view was amazing as were the grounds. We cannot say enough good things about our time this year on the island thanks, in particular, to Maureen and Bruce.

I picked this place based on previous comments so thought I should put mine in! It is located in a perfect place, only 5 min to Brackley Beach. We had the lilac cottage and had a great view of the ocean. It had everything we needed.
You couldn't ask for better owners, Maureen and Bruce. They are very welcoming! Bruce even brought us down so coffee so we could have some in the morning. It's clear they love what they are doing and enjoy the travellers.
We will definitely be coming back!

We spent three weeks here in Sept. 2012 and had a wonderful time. (Most of this review dittos the Aug. 2 review.) The cottage was clean and comfortable and had a nice view of the water. The owners are great. The location is amazing: not far from Charlottetown and very close to north shore spots, such as North Rustico, Cavendish, and the national park. One note of clarification: the view is not of the ocean but of the bay (Brackley Bay? Covehead Bay?); but from the cottages you can see the dunes of the national park, on the other side of which is the ocean. The view was great, and it was also wonderful to be able to stroll down to the water. For anyone interested in birding: we saw Bald Eagles, Northern Harriers, Caspian Terns, Yellowlegs, Yellow-rumped Warblers, and more, from this spot. Highly recommended!
