Our room included a sitting area and mini kitchenette, plus a small deck and access to a rooftop deck with lake views. Our host was very accommodating and imparted a bit of the Scottish heritage of the area, with his Scottish brogue. The house is an easy walk to restaurants, the wharf, and the AG Bell Museum. Make reservations for...

My husband and I stayed at the Worn Doorstep on a trip to the Cabot Trail to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We could not have been more pleased. We had a beautiful room with a kitchenette and living room area and a large bath. The room was light and airy and very welcoming. Our host and hostess were full of...

Calm. Clean. Restful. Lovely. My husband and I had a wonderful visit to Baddeck. Willie was a hoot to talk to. We enjoyed his stories and advice on where to go in the area. It was nice to not be served a large breakfast. A great bakery down the street was perfect for us. If you don't stay here you...

We arrived to Baddeck without a booking and we called the Worn Doorstep based on TripAdvisor reviews. The owner was very helpful and even told us he'd help us find other accommodations if he didn't have a room...he did have a room. The overall usefulness of the room was good...kitchenette...sitting area etc. Unfortunately, the bed was quite uncomfortable and the...

Stayed there for one night with my wife and our 22-month old toddler. The people: we wish we could stay there for longer. Willie, Gina and her sister couldn't have been more hospitable. They make you feel right at home from the get go, and are genuinely welcoming rather than being friendly just for the sake of reviews. Willie is...

Our large spacious room had a sofa, table and chairs, a little kitchenette area to fix your own breakfast, complete with utensils and dishes. Outside the back door was a small private deck with shade tree. Owner supplied coffee and creamers. Quite happy with the overall 3 night stay.

A small lodge with in-room kitchenette makes for self-contained touring on the doorstep to the Cabot Trail. Centrally located, but not "downtown", makes it an easy walk to town, shops, restaurants, etc. Knowledgeable and friendly owners steered us to a restaurant for breakfast and another restaurant on the Cabot Trail we would have missed - helped us plan our time...

After reading other reviews I had higher expectations. We stayed in the basement and found it like a typically old basement. Not a typical b&b, does not serve breakfast which is cheaper but not really. You do have access to a small kitchen area but we did not use. The bed was uncomfortable..

We were delighted when we arrived at the Worn Doorstep and met the host, Willie, who made us feel very welcomed and soon directed us to a lovely place for lunch. Our suite was an attractive modern suite with a flat screen TV and couch, fridge, coffeemaker, etc. with a beautiful modern bathroom with great shower pressure, fluffy towels, etc....

After six mornings of B&B/hotel breakfasts on our Nova Scotia stay, we were happy to choose a self-catering option in Baddeck, giving us the flexibility to eat on our own schedule and grab a bite to eat in the town. Willie's The Worn Doorstep was just what we wanted, and then more. Our suite was more of an apartment with...
