Set on a quiet residential street, these units are more like duplexes. The unit we had was quite large and spacious, like an apt. We had everything we needed and were quite comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised.

The efficiency was really top notch. Staying in the suburbs of St John's provided easy access and a cheaper rate. The facility was absolutely wonderful. There was a full kitchen, bedroom, living room and bathroom. It was very clean and well kept. The owners, Agnes and Pat, couldn't have been more accommodating. Pat even allowed us to use his garden hose to wash our rental car. The housekeeper, Rita, was super nice. She even told us that if we needed anything, we should ask and she would be there without delay. It was really nice to sit on the porch in the quiet of the early morning or evening. We stayed way over the time we expected, only because ti was so convenient, clean and hospitable. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. A real gem!

Only spent one rainy night here. We Enjoyed it very much. The Gentleman who checked us was Very nice.We stayed in a one bedroom suite, lots room,All the comforts of Home. . Looking forward to coming back again in June.

We were so happy we picked this place to stay. The suite we stayed in was a beautiful three bedroom, kitchen, dining and living room. We were three couples and it fit our needs to a tee. The lady that took care of the suites was so accommodating. She even went so far as to bring us a crock pot from her home to use. Thank you Rita you are exceptional.

We stayed here for 2 nights, using the location as a base for day trips. Our unit was equipped with everything we could possibly need, even a bag of ice in the freezer! If we return, we will ask for an upper unit, as there was a small issue with noise from above, but it was remedied immediately by the owner. The owners and the housekeeper Rita are beyond nice.

We found this inn without looking on tripadvisor, last minute while driving along HWY 60. What a surprise! Wonderful host, best price on the island we have had over the past week touring different towns and villages, and get this, our own three bedroom home with huge kitchen, fully equipped large livingroom / diningroom, large flat screen TV with cable, and all the rest, fully equipped.

What a different place to stay! My husband & I were not really sure of what to expect, but once settled in, we we not disappointed. Our second-floor apartment was lovely. Modern, and well- equipped with a full kitchen, bathroom, and living- dining area. Though 30 km. outside St.John's it is still the ideal location for exploring the area. The owners and staff were very pleasant and helpful. We could not have asked for anything more. Very happy with our decision to stay at Comerfords.

We stayed there on 2 different occasions, for the 3 weeks we were in Nfld. The first time we were uostairs, very comfortable, quiet and very nice to have a kitchen .The 2nd time we were on the lower level but could hear people walking about in the suite above. So if you have a choice, choose the upper level, even though there are stairs. Lower level is more Handicap accessible. Super staff, Rita tends to your needs, housekeeping etc. with well equiped kitchen, Cable TV comfortable living room and very comfortable beds. Lots of hot water for showers. It is located close to St. John's by the TCH or alternate good routes. And all attractions South in the Avalon Penisula are close. Quiet in the country, and when the sky is clear, the stars at night are impressive !

The house was in a great location and was clean and bright. It was very comfortable. The owners were very pleasant and helpful. We were able to do laundry there as well. It was close to a number of restaurants so we had everything we needed.

My wife and I rented an efficiency unit - which was really more of a small apartment during a recent trip to Newfoundland. We were initially impressed with the spacious unit, which was also quite clean. However, we soon discovered the floors and walls lacked sound-proofing, and were quite squeaky and noisy. We rented a second-floor unit, and our upstairs neighbours over the duration of the stay were quite noisy. We could hear their every move more than plainly. It became a running joke between us as we tried to guess exactly what they were up to. We also heard lots of noise from the unit beside us, and the one downstairs. I'm sure they could hear us just as plainly. The unit came well-equipped with a full kitchen, which was definitely a plus. There was a barbecue available, which we didn't use due to a lack of proper utensils. The website promised there was an ocean-view available from some of the units. We had a very partial view of Conception Bay, which was satisfactory. Although the website says there is daily housekeeping for the units, we did not receive it.Fresh towels were brought in once, and the garbage was changed only once. It didn't appear the unit was cleaned, nor were the sheets changed. We found the bed uncomfortable, and the air conditioning didn't work during a rare heat wave in Newfoundland. Signage for the units was also poor from the road, and it is located on a somewhat blind corner, compounding the issue. As well, we found the owners somewhat unfriendly, unusual for Newfoundlanders. As a result, we can't recommend Comerfords, as much as we liked the efficiency unit/apartment concept.…
