Having stayed in 3 different hotels in Colombo on previous visits, this was my first time in a boutique guest house and what a lovely stay it was! Mount Lodge is beautifully designed with open areas and greenery that give respite from the hustle and bustle of the city outside. With arrival at 8:30pm, we had decided to have dinner...

We were welcomed at 10pm by the lovely Giamini and his wife Padmini and shown to a beautiful room with huge double bed draped with large mosquito net. It was air conditioned and also had a large ceiling fan. We fell into bed and next morning had a wonderful breakfast of Hoppers (rice and coconut pancakes) with egg, and a...

Beautiful property with just three rooms and nice common spaces. Good wifi and AC and the room was very comfortable. Gabini and Padmini (sp?) were terrific hosts. We had dinner and breakfast there and both were excellent. Among the best meals of our trip. Highly recommended if you like small, elegant hotels and don't need a lot of onsite amenities.

Loved the layout and decor of this large house with 4 guest rooms. Nice lounge areas to relax and small terraces to chill on. Polished concrete floors, lots of planters, nice furniture. Our room had 2 queen sized beds pushed together, mosquito net, thin hard mattress with sheet and thin but heavy duvet. I found the bed to be comfortable,...

After a very hectic peak hour trip from the airport we were so pleased to finally arrive at Mt Lodge. Gamini greeted us with a big friendly smile and gave us an umbrella for our quick stroll outside while it was pouring rain. We very much enjoyed the architecture and interior (and gardens!) of this small hotel. There is only 3 rooms; but each of them has some extra "living room" or balcony space, so you are really private. Bathrooms are large and beds, too. And very comfortable.
