We were 4 for dinner. The restaurant was well designed alongside a pleasant bar area. Service was quick and friendly. Noise levels were high during dinner as the place was fairly crowded. Starters were tasty and the wine excellent and not too pricey. The main courses were a severe disappointment. The monkfish offering at £20 comprised of 3 small lumps...

I was hoping to be able to join the rest of the reviewers who feel this restaurant warrants 5 stars. However the reality last night proved to be an enormous letdown. I won't argue with the quality of the food and the young girls who served us were efficient. They managed to keep smiling all night. The problem for me...

I'm slightly confused as to how you came to value your visit as 1 star after saying that you couldn't argue with the quality of the food or the service you received. The only fault you mention is the portion size of the monkfish dish, which contains several high cost elements. When your meals were checked back on, you commented...

The location is in a pretty Bedfordshire hamlet opposite the largest parish church in Bedfordshire, near the Green sand ridge. The menu is varied to suit most tastes with a specials board too. The staff are efficient and the tastes of the meal are superbly prepared by the chef(s)

We booked the Knife & Cleaver last minute as we decided to visit Bletchley Park and Woburn Abbey on the bank holiday weekend. The staff are extremely friendly. Our room was off the courtyard (room 9), it was lovely and clean and ideal for an over night stay with everything we needed. We had an evening meal (and breakfast which...

Me and my boyfriend stayed here this weekend just gone on a Friday night after attending Woburn safari park that we booked. The welcome was lovely and very warm as we decided to have a drink when we arrived. We were given our keys and shown to our room shortly after asking. We stayed in one of the superior king...

Brilliant. Sam and Jana were fantastic hosts. Excellent food, good selection of beers and whiskeys. My room was lovely. Really looking forward to sitting in front of the fire place and enjoying a proper beer again soon. We will certainly be visiting again.

We. Alled in at the Knife & Cleaver on Sunday morning. We were pleasantly surprised by the. Friendly greeting we received in spite of the fact that there were obvious signs of preparations for the lunchtime rush. We had a really short wait for our meal and were served coffee promptly whilst waiting. We would have no hesitation in recommending...

We have eaten at the Knife and Cleaver several times before and have really enjoyed our meals and the staff are attentive and friendly so we decided to take my parents there for mother's day. We also liked that during a previous Sunday lunch we were offered extra veg free of charge. When we arrived we weren't in the restaurant...
