Near the crossroads of two major highways in North Dakota, the Chieftain is a fixture in the region. The menu has good options. The lounge is the best in the region. Prices are high. $23 for two lunches (burger, and chicken breast). Staff is typically friendly chatty and upbeat North Dakota.

We held a small (60ish people) conference here this year. The meeting rooms worked well for us. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The newly renovated guest rooms were very clean, up to date, and comfortable and very quiet. The native themed public areas are kind of charming and not over the top. The only negative thing was the fact...

The room I had was completely remodeled from when I stayed there over a year ago. Very modern update, new furniture, new tvs, had both fridge and microwave. Definitely would stay there again since the remodel!

We had a great time at the Chieftain Motel when visiting for a family gathering. The rooms were spacious and ours even had outdoor access, though it was closed for a renovation on the exterior. There is not a pool, so please be aware if you are traveling with children, but it was very close to a nice park. The...

It was about 2:30 pm and we were pretty much the only ones there for lunch. I ordered the grilled chicken salad. It was fresh and the chicken was deliciously prepared. As I walked through the halls, there were splendid display windows of ceremonial Native American Indian clothing and footware. Some jewelry, arrow heads and other artifacts. It was a...

Good food in friendly ambience . They have two parts to the restaurant one for families and one side for adults with smoking allowed. Entertaining decor. Excellent service. We recommend the ribeye steak! 100 % satisfying. Dine HERE in Carrington.

We have stayed at the Chieftain Motel many times over the years and have always found it to be a good base for visiting central North Dakota. The reasonable prices include a $5 voucher per person towards breakfast in the on-site restaurant, but be aware that the restaurant and lounge bar are closed on Sunday evenings. When we arrived on...

This is a completely renovated hotel that is above and beyond my standards for a small town place. The outside doesn't do the inside justice. The cafe and bar inside have excellent food and service as well. HIGHLY recommend!!

To start, I cannot rate the motel aspect of the Chieftain Motel as I did not stay, but from the looks of the lobby area it has modern updates and from comments made by my peers it sounds like the updates are recent. The dinning area of the Chieftain was satisfactory. Service was on the slow end, considering how empty...
