We would highly recommend Woodcliffe... Most especially the Cottage which is just awesome. If you are looking to escape for a while to a nice remote, beautiful setting, then this place is for you. The cottage is relatively basic, but well equipped and has a great fireplace inside for cooler days and evenings and braai outside. It's very private and...

Woodcliffe is a very special place. Located at the foot of a staggering valley in the Eastern Cape Drakensberg, it is well off the beaten path but definitely worth the journey. We were a group of 10, with three kids, and everyone had a fantastic time. Fly fishing is a big attraction here, but we were more than happy swimming...

We spent three nights in the garden flat, and took full advantage of the well-marked hiking trails. Such unspoilt scenery, and so green! Our host was very welcoming and helpful (so we're the dogs!), and the flat was charmingly shabby chic. We hope to go back sometime.

This was our first visit to Woodcliffe and I can happily say it won't be our last. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by our hosts and shown to the Garden Cottage, which was pristine and comfortable. The accommodation is simple but exceptionally clean and cozy. If I had to pick one thing to highlight, it would be the scenery....

I have been to Woodcliffe several times in the last two years and keep coming back for the awesome views, nice accommodation and the great hiking. The farm is located at the foot of the 'little berg' and is a really magic setting. The cottage is set away from the rest of the farm which makes it very private with...

Surrounded by beautiful mountain range and situated on a working farm. Most beautiful sunset. Self-catering unit very well equipped. Accommodation was neat and very comfortable, owners very friendly and helpful. Access road from main road is a tad rough so just take it easy! :)

It was a long bumpy road to get here in the rain - but thank goodness we have a 4x4 - however the welcome received was worth the drive. The room large and comfortable and clean and the cat coming to visit in the evening was a lovely touch. Being animals lovers we adored the dogs and cats and the...

Having visited Woodcliffe recently, we still reminisce of the natural beauty that encompasses Woodcliffe country house. In terms of enjoying trails and the outdoors, Woodcliffe is great. Our group stayed in the 6 sleeper cottage. Which was adequate, but the actual cottage is showing its age and perhaps needs to be refurbished. Having one bathroom for 6 people is not...

Thank you for your input. Yes, the Cottage was due for maintenance and a spring clean. I am glad to say that is has been repainted and spring cleaned. I feel this review is unfair in terms of your comment on our poorly marked trails as you never ventured far enough to get onto a trail and never actually did...

This was our 1st trip to this establishment. The self catering cottage has been often spoken about in the SA fly fishing world and a number of local Fly fishing magazines have mentioned it in articles by the few well known doyens of the South African fly fishing world. The thatched roof cottage is simply furnished and comfortable. It has...
