What a warm and wonderful stay! We plan on coming back every spring break with our dog. The room was clean and comfortable. Our dog was happy to be with us. And breakfast was delicious with great conversation.

I absolutely love the Camilla Cottage. I highly recommend it! The breakfasts were fantastic, fresh coffee outside our room at 7 am, cookies and fresh water in our rooms in the afternoon. And dog friendly!

This was our second stay at Camilla Cottage and it was even better than the first. Steve, Paula, and Sparky are the ultimate hosts! The daily breakfast is always a surprise and delicious. Our hosts make it seem so effortless and relaxed. Can't wait to book our next visit!

Breakfast was an adventure each morning. Paula's cooking is inventive. Each dish was beautifully presented as well as scrumptious. Our room (Crane Suite) was spacious and full of interesting objects. It was great to relax on the front porch, to tour Steve's garden, to enjoy the eclectic decor, and to visit with other guests over a leisurely meal each morning.

Stayed only one night (our mistake) on our way back north from Florida. The house and our room were exceptionally hospitable and even though the weather was a bit chilly it was an easy walk to the waterfront. Enjoyed a fun dinner at the Dock Street Oyster Bar and wished we had more time to visit in the historic district....

We loved our stay and plan on going back! The breakfast was out of this world and the owner woke up early to make it before our early morning flight! Seamless reservation, check in and check out. Lovely historic home so close to riverwalk.

We stayed The Camellia Cottage for a much needed getaway. What a jewel! The owners Paula and Steve are gracious and more than accommodating. The house is conveniently located to all the shops and restaurants. Our room The Tuscany was warm and cozy, the bed was extremely comfortable and has a fireplace. As an extra added touch juice and coffee...

Exactly what we needed for our trip to Wilmington with our Golden Retriever. Ideally located in the historical section of town, Camellia Cottage is within easy walking distance of great restaurants on and around the riverfront. Paula and Steven could not have been more welcoming and knowledgeable about Wilmington. We have already booked another stay.

First time at a B&B, they made us feel at home, food was amazing, we picked out our room for our next visit before we left, very close to downtown restaurants, short walk. All of the above, plus dog friendly and welcomed! Welcome treat waiting for us upon arrival, bedroom was amazing, and gardens were beautiful even in the winter,...

My fiance and I spent New Year's eve in Wilmington, NC in this 4 room pet friendly B&B. The lovely couple who have operated this for fourteen years could not have been more gracious. Great rooms, location, gourmet breakfast, etc, etc. Having been in the area for many years, they know all of the local restaurant owners and readily provide...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Once home to artist Henry MacMillan, The Camellia Cottage is a high-peaked, Queen Anne shingle house featuring four guest rooms. A long veranda, painted by a local artist, provides a view of the lush garden of azaleas, magnolias, ferns and camellias. Here, great food, gracious service and a friendly atmosphere make for a relaxing guest experience. Greet each morning with coffee at your door and a sumptuous breakfast of fruit, homemade pastries and entree. Paula’s stint as a hotel pastry chef ensures a delightful dining experience. The Crane Suite features an ornate, metal bed, carved fireplace and vibrant color. Formerly the sun room, the bath and dressing area is filled with lush tropical plants. Henry’s Room, featuring a canopy bed and fireplace, reflects the stateliness found in two of Henry’s paintings hanging in the house. Jane’s Room is named after Henry’s mother and features floral designs and vintage photos complementing the four-post bed and fireplace. In the Tuscany Room, the golden glow of the walls and large windows make you think you’re in an Italian villa. Enjoy the fireplace from the whimsical iron bed or soak in the claw-foot tub with a glass of Chianti. ... more   less
