I broke free from work to play 18 in the 80 degree afternoon. Ate lunch at the clubhouse and the food was reasonably priced and the service in the restaurant was the finest. Several people paid attention to me and made sure I got in and out to make my tee time. Ham sandwich was excellent but french fries were...

And not in a good way. The layout was good and had more than a couple interesting holes. The course was in pretty fair condition despite some standing water in a couple of low areas (Matthew had been through some days before). But, the entire course was absolutely over-run with gnats. Despite multiple applications of two different but sprays, one...

Checked in and the guy behind the counter just grunted at me and I had to ask him what the next steps were as this was the first time here and it will be the last.We arrived at the tee box and people are lined up and there is no starter so people just marshalled themselves. The course itself needs some...

While we didn't stay there, we certainly enjoyed playing one of their two golf courses. The River Course was very challenging and I can only imagine that the Pines Course is too. Note that the rough was VERY very heavy rough ... lost several golf balls in the rough right at the edge of the fairway ... even lost one...

Whispering Pines was the second course we played during our golf weekend. Though The Country Club of Whispering Pines boast 2 courses, only one was open because the greens at The Pines course were being replaced. As a result All members and guests had to play the River course. They also decided that a 9:00 am shotgun would be the...

Our foursome played the River (West) course in May and found the course to be extremely fair with an assortment of varying holes that provided not only a challenge but required course management as well. Several holes on the backside required handling elevation changes and the front nine had several water carries and numerous lateral water hazards. Course was in...

In March, the River and Pines courses offered reasonable rates and accepted walk-ons. Spring is a good time to work on your game without the summer crowds. Overall the staff was friendly and the course was in good shape. The fairways were green and in very good condition. The rough was growing in. I bought the BROWNGOLF discount card; it...

I had a chance to play both the River and the Pines course over the Easter weekend. The River course was fun, some very interesting holes on the back nine. The greens were good and rolled true. The fairways had some dry spots, but nothing bad. Overall, a very enjoyable course. The Pines course is up a level in every...

I and six others golfed 18 holes and then an 18 hole scramble at this course. The course was in great shape and the staff seemed to appreciate out business. Pretty course with plenty of pine trees and water.
