We stayed at several lovely, lovely B&Bs along our way from Naples, FL. to points north. Each had aspects to enjoy and recommend, but only Andon- Reid can be described in superlatives in every capacity. Generous hospitality, superb accommodations, outstanding communication, meticulously thoughtful details throughout our stay. We have booked our return visit for the express purpose of enjoying the experience all over again.
I don’t normally review a place at which we’re staying until after we leave, but after 3 days (1 remaining, which is a week too few), I’m ready. 😁 Andrea & George are the delightful proprietors of this lovely bed & breakfast in Waynesville, NC, about 30 minutes west of Asheville. I had my doubts as we first approached, as it’s not as remote as I anticipated/hoped, but the moment we walked in, all doubts were dispelled. It reminded me a little of the Tardis - it seems bigger on the inside than from the outside! We’re staying in the Magnolia Room, which has a lovely tiled porch with nearly wraparound windows - perfect for enjoying a cup of their delicious & very strong morning coffee while reading a book. The large porch with rocking chairs is lovely for enjoying the outdoors & chatting with other guests, while the large sitting area with gas fireplace did the same for indoors. Of course, they do follow current CDC guidelines for COVID-19 prevention, which is still reassuring. My wife, sister-in-law, and I are all vaccinated, but our 14yo daughter isn’t yet eligible, so we appreciated that. Andrea & George provided excellent guidance and recommendations for day trips & hikes, along with beautifully prepared & equally delicious breakfasts. (See the mouth watering photos!) They do seem to lean towards sweeter breakfast dishes, but they will customize or change if requested. My sister-in-law prefers less sweet breakfasts, so they added eggs perfectly cooked to her preference. While I usually prefer more remote locations for vacations intended to restore peace & tranquility, the B&B is well-insulated & offers a very peaceful respite from the outside world. You can barely hear anything when I’m your room! My only regret, is that we didn’t come a couple weeks later in Spring, as I’m sure it’s even more beautiful once everything is blooming. If one wants to visit during peak fall color season, one apparently needs to make reservations 11 months in advance. We’ll have to do that for 2022, I guess. Located just a 1/2 mile from downtown Waynesville, Andon-Reid is close to multiple highways & the Blue Ridge Parkway, so it’s convenient to all the good sights in the area. Highly recommended!…
Why search for another option when we've found the B&B that has so much to offer. Warm welcome—Andrea and George make us feel like family. Afternoon treats—help yourself to home-made goodies. Private room—comfy beyond home. Scrumptious breakfast—what a line-up to start the day right. Safety measures in place. We felt safe throughout our time at Andon-Reid. This visit celebrated Spring. And we're looking forward to returning in October.
The inn is very clean and every attention to detail has been thought of. Loved the jacuzzi tub and fireplace in the bathroom; and fireplace in the bedroom. The bed was extremely comfortable with soft sheets and pillows. The view from the dining room is lovely and breakfast is a very nice affair. It's beautifully presented and yummy. Andrea and George are the perfect innkeepers and catered to our every need. This has to be one of the nicest b and b's we've stayed at, and know we'll be returning.
George and Andrea are wonderful hosts and make every part of your stay at the inn wonderful. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The hosts made the most delicious breakfasts each day. The grounds are spacious and welcoming. We can't recommend this B+B more highly!
