Great home, clean, comfortable, newly renovated, affordable and two minutes from Swan Quarter Ferry dock. Decorated very nicely with a local, sound decor. Owner very trusting and friendly. Would stay again and would recommend to all.

Great place and a wonderful value. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and the full kitchen is so nice. If you enjoy being somewhere you can see the stars at night without the lights of a nearby city, this B&B is for you. Would recommend to anyone.

We loved the Tunnell Farm House!!! Wish we could have stayed longer. We chose this because of the closeness to the Ferry. We arrived late and caught the ferry next morning. Perfect for a family. There was not much for breakfast, but they knew we were there for the ferry. We had coffee, juice and package of sweets. Everything was...

Didn't used the washer and dryer, but glad to know they were available. Nice screened porch with rocker and swing! Enjoyed the spectacular view of big moon over the wheat field. Felt like home! Plenty of food including milk and juice on our shelf and in the freezer muffins for breakfast.

Access to kitchen is a big plus. And it is convenient to Swanquarter ferry and to wildlife refuges. On the main street into town, ag fields and equipment around it. They seem to prefer hunters as guests instead of birders. Be sure to get a full tank of gas before you come to this region-- the only gas station in...

The farmhouse is nice and well located to catch the ferry. We never encountered the owners but all correspondence via email was pleasant. The only drawback was the second B in B&B. Although, described as continental which is usually simple, this fell below that expectation. Make your own coffee and small sweet rolls in plastic wrappers in the refrigerator were...

My husband and I found Tunnell Farmhouse B&B to be a quaint place for leisure and rest, with easy access to Mattamuskeet Reserve and the Ocracoke Ferry. Sandra and Dick Tunnell has turned it into a comfortable home away from home. We stayed a couple nights so we could see and photograph the fowl at Mattamuskeet before traveling to nearby...

The perfect arrangment for people heading to Ocracoke on the Swanquarter ferry, or for birders interested in the many birding loctions nearby. With only three rooms, each with own private bath, this bed and breakfast (do it yourself breakfast in house kitchen) is lovely. You can bike or walk to and around town and Mattamuskeet Wildlife Refuge is a short...

This location was perfect as my wife is a birder and we had planned to visit Lake Mattamuskeet, Pocosin Lakes NWR and Alligator River NWR. It was centrally located to these birding hot spots plus it also would allow us to be close to the Ferry when we continued on with our trip to Ocracoke and Hatteras areas. The owners...

I have stayed at the Tunnell Farmhouse twice this year. It is a very convenient stopping point in traveling from central NC to Ocracoke, allowing me to catch the 9:00 AM ferry without having to get up too early. It has everything one needs in an overnight stay. Good TV, fitness room, great magazines and books, cleanliness, private bathrooms, and...
