We enjoyed a long weekend here at this sweet little inn in Sapphire, NC. We stayed in the Whitewater Suite. The accommodations were very cozy and one of the cleanest accommodations I had stayed at recently. They place high importance on the cleanliness. So good in this time of pandemic! We felt completely safe. They are dog friendly and we enjoyed bringing our little dog. We were thrilled to wake up to several inches of snow on the second day! Beautiful and pristine. We were close enough to drive to Cashiers and Highlands for sightseeing. The drive over is very curvy but breathtaking views are abundant! The suite was wonderful: comfortable bed with good linens, nice microwave and keurig type coffee maker, separate sitting area with big screen TV. Watched our favorite Netflix movies. I would recommend this place. Also very nice staff!

We were unexpectedly stranded in Sapphire over the weekend due to the snow. We’re normally diligent enough to do our research but we’re coerced by some friends to help them move furniture. They had a 4WD and we didn’t. We were able to pull into a closed gas station and we were okay, but obviously we would rather not stay in the truck all night. After trying some other options for friends to come get us, I began to Google what was nearby. Brook Trout popped up and I spoke with Crystal who was amazing! They had one available room and, after some digging, she was able to find someone to drive us the two miles up the hill to the inn. The room was cozy and clean, even for a last minute reservation. The bed was comfortable and we loved the aesthetic of the inn! The warm fireplace in the lobby and the breakfast area was wonderful. Breakfast was great because you could cook eggs and bacon yourself. There was also yogurt, bagels, English muffins, apples, and homemade banana bread. It was all delicious. We were so thankful to have a warm place to sleep that night and for kind strangers to assist us in getting to and from our vehicle. I can’t wait to be back - and next time we’ll bring our vehicle with us! Thank you to Crystal and the woman and her husband we met the next morning that helped us out. And to the gentleman who rescued us the previous night - I forgot his name but he was so kind!

My family and I are very happy to have chosen this place. Firstly, the attendants are very receptive and polite. Crystal and Julie are amazing girls who do everything to help you and make you feel welcomed. The facilities were more than we expected, simple but very safe. You make your own breakfast and enjoy the warmth of a beautiful fireplace. Children can play freely inside and outside the hotel. At night you can warm up at a campfire with friends and eat marshmallows with the kids.

My mom and I stayed here the night before my wedding. The staff were great about giving us the instructions to check in after hours. The room was clean, warm and cozy. We had all the amenities we needed. In the morning we woke up to a wonderful array of breakfast foods and sat eating in the beautiful cabin setting meal area. As an extra cherry on top, Julie and her staff were so generous in letting me use their loaner car to get to the salon the next morning as I had NO idea there was no uber services and getting a taxi in the area is not easy. I am so appreciative for the staff and Julie the owner! You can't go wrong booking a room here!

As noted in title of this review (which was taken from the sign in the lobby), the Brook Trout Inn is a rare place that truly makes a traveler feel at home. My wife and I stayed there on a quick mountain trip to chase some waterfalls and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. During these times of global pandemic, the staff's dedication to cleanliness and contactless transaction was most appreciated. The adorable rooms were sparkingly clean and couldn't have been any more comfortable. The availability of a nice, hearty breakfast and a hot cup of coffee really helped to start our day in the mountains off on the right foot. The campfire pit is a fun touch for those that enjoy spending time around some crackling embers. The Brook Trout Inn is a real Appalachain gem and a great option for those visiting beautiful western North Carolina.
