I was looking for somewhere special to stay on a birthday weekend in the Barossa for my husband. This beautiful historic homestead really fits the bill. Just 5k from Angaston, you are really immersed in the countryside. The gardens are exquisite and the homestead worthy of royalty - apparently Prince George stayed there! As the homestead is registered by the...

I'm going to keep this simple. If you're heading to the Barossa Valley for a few days, then I would HIGHLY recommend you stay with Marcia and Andrew at Collingrove Homestead. Located just outside Angaston, this is a brilliant piece of Australian history into which you can immerse yourself. And having 150+ years of history around you would be ordinarily...

What a pleasant find - a warm and welcome host, rooms are lovely and clean, the guest lounge with fireplace us a great place to relax and unwind with friends. The breakfast was delicious, service was great. The restaurant recommendations from Marcia were spot on! Hard to fault - what a great weekend. Highly recommend!

We cant wait to go back to this amazing place but this time we'll make sure we stay for longer. The room was absolutely gorgeous, but the service is second to none. We had a spa what was previous stables and lit a fire in the guest lounge, snuggling up to a dvd in what was the old post office....

Don't let the (very few) negative reviews keep you from staying here. Those seem to focus on the cost. Yes, it's high. But you're also staying in an authentic, awesome, well located, historic property that costs a bomb to maintain. If you actually enjoy that sort of thing, then it's worth every penny. One negative review complained about a wedding...

We travelled in a group of 10 over a weekend. Marcia and Andrew were so accommodating, answering all our questions and recommending places for us to see and eat at. They cooked us a beautiful breakfast both mornings, left a toy tractor for our friend's child to drive in and even gave us a bottle of sparkling wine. The rooms...

Thank you Marcia and Andrew! Our stay at Collingrove was just perfect! The workshop room was just beautiful and the bed was fabulously comfortable and your service was faultless. The property is just as gorgeous, the gardens are beautiful and I loved being surrounded by the history of one of the families that made our state. Marcia your breakfasts were...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Collingrove Homestead (c1856) was conceived as a little piece of England and is set amongst the great gums of the Barossa Valley The building is the historical home of the town of Angaston’s namesake, the Angas family. Thus far it has been maintained as a museum displaying artifacts from The Angas Family home and the South Australian history they helped create. Marcia and Andrew Frost have transformed the impressive heritage-listed home into a high-end, boutique bed-and-breakfast. Guest accommodation is individually styled. All rooms are furnished with French Provincial hand carved beds, fresh white linen and French Style Toile quilts. There are five guest rooms three have en-suites which are decorated in black and white tile another two rooms share an authentic old style bathroom complete with a claw foot bath. Guest amenities include a Hydrotherapy spa located in the old Carriage House across the quadrangle from the Guest Lounge, which is complete with leather lounges and open fire. Collingrove is set on 14 acres, with manicured gardens and authentic paddocks.
