We were welcomed by Lynne who eagerly shared the interesting history of the Crown & Anchor Inn and showed us around, helping us to settle in. We were in the Red room, perhaps a little small, but full of charm. The bathroom hidden behind the full length mirror was well equipped with everything one would need. In the morning, before...

The Window room aptly named presents a window to yesteryear. A period experience at the Crown & Anchor may help you feel like a time traveller instead of a princess highway tourist. As with all things in life, who you travel with is more important than your destination. Our hosts, Lyn and Lindsay were joyful and interesting companions with a...

After a very enjoyable first visit, my wife and I were somewhat surprised and disappointed with the lukewarm reception and general hospitality the second time we stayed at the Crown and Anchor. The location is gorgeous, rooms are lovely but a bit small with all the antique bits and pieces in them. Breakfast is brilliant. Most telling though, given the...

Thank you for your comments. We welcome constructive feedback. Sorry to hear you were disappointed with your second visit, especially after you “loved” your first stay only two months before. This second review took us by surprise. After having stayed in the Brick room the first time we thought you would love the Window room, which is our largest, most...

My wife and I spent a wonderful three days relaxing and enjoying the ambience of the Crown & Anchor which was matched by the hospitality of Lindsay and Lyn. As avid users of B & B accommodation over many years in Australia and overseas, we were very pleased to have found the service, faclities, advice and location to be ideal...

The prime objective of our trip was whale watching in Eden, but I must admit, I was equally excited about staying at the Crown & Anchor! And my expectations were met even before we arrived, with some helpful advice from Lindsay about places to eat, if we were to arrive late, and so on. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted...

Crown & Anchor Inn located in Eden is the perfect halfway stop between Melbourne & Sydney if travelling the coast road. We prefer to stay in B&B's or guesthouse rather than motels as there is more room to spread about and you get to meet other travellers as well as your hosts. The Crown & Anchor is a historic inn...

We loved our stay in this gorgeous example of Australia's early coach house heritage. Beautiful room, wonderful position, champagne welcome, a house full of period furniture, lots of birds to look at during breakfast and terrific hospitality all made this a stay we'll remember for a long time. Long trip up from Mornington Peninsula was met with great hosts, a loverly room and Champagne & Nibbles. Our host filled us in on great walks and where to dine. Woke up after a fab sleep, to sit in a beautiful breakfast room overlooking the bay. Only one negative and that is we could only stay one night, next time...

Eden has more than enough history, views, walks (and fresh seafood!) to warrant at least a two-night stay, even when the weather is cooler, and the Crown and Anchor proved the perfect base. The overwhelmingly positive earlier reviews are accurate - we couldn't fault the owners' hospitality, their enthusiasm for the property and its past, the cosiness of our room...
