The B&b is perfectly located in the pedestrian area. The building hosting it has the charme of times passed by. The inner court gives a first glimpse of plenty of charme and caracther and the room has the same. However, we did miss the love and care. The lowest point is reached by the boringly served breakfast in the restaurant near by
Very good service and food at an honest price in the heart of Trapani's Centro storico. Lovely outdoor tables . The staff are also very friendly. Well worth a visit if you are in Trapani. The Centro storico Is also lovely
We stayed at Ai Lumi for 3 nights from 16/1/2020 to check out this morning 19/1/2020. We were in room 32, there are stairs, lots of stairs but the accomodation is really good, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, in a really beautiful old building. The rooms surround a large internal courtyard. It is excellent value for money as there is a sitting area, a kitchenette with table and chairs, a small balcony, a very good bathroom, all nicely styled and spotlessly clean. Plenty of good quality towels, tea and coffee and a kettle. The staff here are really excellent, the owners I assume, are helpful, pleasant and will get your luggage to your room and down again..The breakfast is in Ai Lumi's restaurant, Alfredo the owner is a gem. Such a terrific host, we had breakfast here as part of our room rate, but had a lunch here and 2 dinners as well. The food was exceptionally good, fresh, well cooked and a varied menu, you would be hardpressed not to like it. The wine list is good too, with lots of local wines, Alfredo can help you decide. I can't recommend Ai Lumi highly enough, and we hope to return to Trappani soon, and would definitely stay here again.…
Our room was very large with a balcony overlooking the blvd. Anciant building has its drawbacks. Many steps to get to our room. Not a plush bed (like we are use to in US hotels). Overall it was a very pleasant stay. We could walk to many places (including a long walk to the cable car to Erice.
Adding a lot of sugar, salt and grease is the easiest way to improve mediocre food. But even that trick can go wrong. Both the swordfish caponata and the Sicilan caponata contained far too much sugar. We did not finish those courses. The sea bass was also a little too sweet but mostly dull. The local wine, zibibo secco, was the only thing that we enjoyed.
