My son was married here and his wife-to-be picked this place sight unseen off the internet. The sight is spectacular. They turnkey everything from the rehearsal dinner, the minister, the ceremony, the reception, the DJ, the photographer...etc. There were enough rooms for the entire bridal party to stay at he mansion. Your guests will have to stay at local motels about 6 miles away by road and it is a dry county so any and all alcohol will need to be brought in. As far as the comment by freelance about nothing to do, well if you want night life, fancy shopping, disco and fancy restaurants...yes. If you want white water rafting, hiking, jet skiing, swimming, tubing, fishing, down home cooking and gorgeous vistas while driving or hiking...Robbinsville is your place. As an added attraction, a pair of young neighborhood beagles came over everyday to see if they could score food. They belong to a fellow who owns a pack a few houses down the road. They are well taken care of and are well-versed in how to wheedle food out of guests. Belinda and her family says that they are fixtures at almost every function. They know how to work the party and only go to those who call them over. Speaking of Belinda and her family, they worked hard and long to make the wedding a success. They even offered to drive any guest who needed it a free ride back to their hotel in Robbinsville after the reception if they felt that they had had too much to drink. Much of the food was made from scratch as was marvelous. As to the bugs...there were a few gnat and yellow jackets but...it is the Great Smokies. I'll put up with a few bugs in return for the natural beauty.

I have to say if you are a writer and want to get away from the every day bustle, then this is for you! Please do not get me wrong the house is beautiful! However it need some upgrading. I have to disagree with Lisa!!! There is nothing to do in Robbinsville!!!! You have to go out of the town if you want to do those things she describes. I will check before I book this place. Also if you love all kinds of bugs on you! then this is the place for you. Flower bed not kept up!!!! Too many spiders!!!!

I would highly recommend this vacation place. The people are friendly and the area is absolutely breath taking. There is lots of family activities in the area like hiking, tubing, riding the tail of the dragon and so much more. I love it here :)
