I booked a two-night stay for my husband's birthday. It was our first visit to this historic place that I had been hearing about for years. Tapoco Lodge is a real Smoky Mountain gem. We drove there via Highway 129, affectionately called "The Dragon". It was their season opening weekend. I never would have known that except that they told...

We have stayed at the Tapoco Lodge twice and eaten at the restaurant several times. We have always loved it. We have never spent a holiday there and decided to go for their Easter Buffet. For the first time, we were disappointed with our meal. Being a vegetarian, I checked the menu before we went. Even though it was advertised,...

Booked online, received an email the following day that, by the way, "we're under construction". Made reservations for Easter buffet dinner. $25/person. Food was almost gone and they were not bringing anymore up for the buffet. The other restaurant was supposed to have food until 9, on their "construction menu". Went to order food around 8 and they only had...

To begin, thank you for taking the time to provide such valuable feedback. I have spoken with our department heads regarding your concerns and of course our GM. He too was aware of your experience and was hoping to discuss the matter further by phone. If you are available, we would certainly appreciate the opportunity to discuss the matter further...

Two motorcycle riding buddies and I stayed in a cabin room--Cheoah One. The room was spacious and nicely appointed with the bonus of a private deck overlooking the property and neighboring mountains. At dusk they light the firepits, which was a great way to enjoy a beautiful mountain evening. We ate dinner and breakfast in the lodge, both of which...

We loved this lodge. it' scenic and quiet (at night). There's construction going on during the week due to the rebuilding of the decks in the main building. I would highly recommend to book the cabins, which is away from the construction. Also a word of caution: the menu at the restaurant is limited (sandwiches and burgers) even for dinner....

Thank you so much for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. We are anxiously awaiting the completion of the construction and get back on the river. Hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back this summer when we are serving our full menu again. Safe travels until then.

We spent our 30th anniversary here. The staff and facility was amazing. They were more than helpful. The only con that I have was the cost of the Wi-Fi. Make sure you bring your hiking boots and sticks when you come. Lots of trails in the area.

David, Thank you for choosing Tapoco Lodge for your anniversary celebration! What a wonderful way to relax and enjoy the occasion. I've passed along your note regarding Wi-Fi to management. Complimentary wi-fi would be wonderful but in our very remote location the service is exceptionally costly. Hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back soon. Safe travels until then....

We stayed in the Laurel Suite in the lodge....The lodge & grounds are beautifully maintained! Stephanie, Nathan & lady bartender on 3/31 were top notch along with ALL the Staff on 4/1 & Red! Very welcoming! Great food even though it was the Construction Menu. Fire pit! Theater! We enjoyed every second of our stay!

My husband and I recently stayed at Tapoco for our first visit to celebrate a birthday. The setting could not be more beautiful. We were blown away by the meticulously maintained grounds - absolutely loved the communal fire pits that were maintained by very attentive staff. We stayed in the White Oak cabin, which was very well appointed and comfortable....

Kaydee, Thank you for taking the time to provide such a detailed review. While I'm thrilled you have found us, it's obvious we fell a bit short of expectation and hope we are given the opportunity to make it right. Typically we have a craft beer selection including 15 drafts and several bottled options. Because of the delay in construction...

This is a special place in the mountains of North Carolina. It is undergoing renovations and just reopened after the winter . Hence the glitches - the restaurant was packed and they were definitely understaffed. The food was fine and the wait staff was definitely trying but our dishes came out 15 mins apart. The cabins we were in were...

I should have called ahead, but didn't. My wife and I were in the area last week and thought a lunch at the Lodge would be a great idea. When we drove up to the Lodge the gate was open and cars were in the lot. What we didn't know at the time was the Lodge was closed for the...
