They called us about 4 hours prior to checking in to tell us they over booked our room. What a great way to start a trip NOT. I find it hard to believe that they could over book a 2 room B and B. I think it was because of my wife’s dietary issues was too difficult for them to

The owners were kind enough to stay up late for us and still greeted us with a smile upon arrival. The bedroom was very clean and decorated with Sherlock Holmes artifacts and memorabilia of from one of the owners' mystery writing days. Rest of house was charming. We ate a

We thought this would be a nice place to stop on the way to SC. But once we stopped, we decided not to stay. The house was not very clean and didn't meet our expectations of a B&B. It was very dusty and smelled like the dogs that were barking at us from upstairs. The surrounding

Now let me give you a run down of these marvelous people. They came to the front door and I knew by their faces they wouldn't stay. No smile, no introductions, etc. They really didn't want a tour of the B&B and went straight to their room to lay on the bedspread. I agree with one thing - the town is going down hill but it is safe, just run down. If they smelled anything it was the paper plant in town. Sorry about that but the dogs? No. My two little poddles are kept clean! They stayed all of 15 minutes and had made up their minds not to stay before they came thru the front door!

I stopped here while on may way south. The food was good, the staff was very nice, there were no privacy issues, and it was clean. This is a good place to stay if you are passing through North Carolina. I have no complaints.

I'm sorry but we tried so many times and it didn't work. Our two toy puddles just will not stay calm or stop barking with another dog in the house. If it was up to us, we'd love to have them visit but Coco and Fefe say, NO I'm afraid we are not children proof either.
