At short notice The Elephant booked our family in for a special dinner to celebrate our daughter's 21st. They placed us in the Trunk Room and set it up with the beautiful long backed chairs that looked like thrones. Very Game of Thrones and our daughter as very much the Khalessi of the night! Prosecco was opened and poured on...

Great little hotel, rooms were furnished well with good quality furnishings, comfy and cosy beds. I was in the annex which was very quiet and the breakfast was good quality, particularly the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. Staff were great and very friendly, would definitely stay again.

We have just returned from our fourth stay at this pleasant low key hotel in the pleasant Thamesside village of Pangbourne. Large beds, very good bed linen, good breakfast and helpful staff. Our bedroom and bathroom had been recently revamped. We have, also, had Sunday lunch (roast), when in the area, and thought that was good value for a well...

A friend and I had been for a walk this morning, bright and beautiful weather but very chilly, so we wanted to stop off for a coffee in Pangbourne. Lucky for us that Costa was heaving, so we popped in to The Elephant and asked if we could just get a coffee. The staff were really lovely and welcoming. The...

I can't really imagine why you would want to go to Pangbourne (I was there visiting family) which is now more than ever a commuter town for London (last time I was there, there was a Maserati dealership; now it does Bentleys and Aston Martins too - you get the general idea - though the river frontage is pretty). But...

This is a very charming hotel in the centre of Pangbourne. The rooms are very nicely decorated and furnished. The beds are excellent and the showers are powerful. Overall the welcome was very good. The stay was however let down by the service at breakfast. We needed a table for 5 and the server pretty much left us to sort...

Dear R P, Many thanks for taking the time to leave your review. I am pleased to read that you enjoyed your room and the staff looked after you well. However i must say that i am deeply concerned by your comments about the service that you received at breakfast. We are very proud of our breakfast both in service...

I gave this place another chance today after previously vowing to never bother again after awful service. But our options were limited today due to the bank holiday. Unfortunately it was worse, if possible, today. The bar staff seem to have no idea about who is next to be served at the bar - even with a minimal number of...

Hi Liz A, Thank you for taking the time to review the Elephant. I must say i am very dissapointed by your comments. The entire team has worked extremely hard over the festive period and as i am sure you can appreciate having Christmas fall on a weekend meant we saw extra bank holiday days which ultimately required additonal staff...

Thank you so much to the lovely manager Dale for so generously sponsoring our school's Christmas Market. He was so helpful and keen to support our school's fundraising event. As a family we've been to the Elephant bar a few times and always enjoyed the food and drinks. Has a lovely atmosphere and the kids love the large garden.

This is a real old-England type of hotel. Creaking staris, grand reception, heavy chairs and a smell of old times. However, the essentials are modern. Good bathroom, rain shower that can be extremely hot (the operation of it was not well indicated so I was offered a steam bath to begin with). Good lights and a good bed (though small)....
