visiting the raleigh area and we decided we wanted to change it up and stay at a b&b. We stayed in the Pell room which was beautiful. The room was filled with antique treasures and furniture - but it felt very comfortable - not stuffy. The pell room also had a private balcony - as this room is on the...

This was our first B&B experience, but after staying here I doubt we’ll ever stay in another chain hotel if we can help it. Gary and Doris really made the house feel like our home for two nights, and they gave us great recommendations for restaurants and activities. They even invited us to join them out at one of their...

The Oakwood Inn is beautiful, the inn-keepers are gracious hosts, and the breakfasts are simply delicious and special. Stayed in the Pell Room and loved, loved, loved having a private porch that made me feel as though I was in my very own "tree house." The comfortable front porch is a lovely place to sit and read.

Lovely room, really nice paintings and sculpture throughout the house. Great location in a historic neighborhood. We wandered the neighborhood to admire the houses and foliage, then sat on the front porch to relax, listen to the birds and watch the world go by. Very nice formal and full-service breakfast. Warning: if you're not a morning person, sitting at a...

We have stayed several times at the Oakwood, as our relatives live nearby in Cary. Every time, we have had a wonderful stay. The Inn is beautifully done up, and the innkeepers could not be more friendly or accommodating. The breakfast was always wonderful - fresh fruit, juice, and a unique and delicious individual main course.

We enjoyed our overnight stay. The house is interesting and close to historic down town Raleigh. Off street parking and wi fi finished off the excellent package.

My husband and I took a road trip for our anniversary holiday and stayed here on the first leg of our trip. The building is charming, the rooms clean, the service was excellent and the breakfast was delicious.

The group included my 89 yr old mother, and 14 yr old niece and myself a 50 something lady from Pgh and Buffalo. The facilties were great for all of us. My niece loved her big bathroom and bed and my mother enjoyed talking to the fellow guests at breakfast from different parts of the country and of course the...

We especially liked the breakfast (incrediable food and service) and our walk around the Oakwood neighborhood. We enjoyed our conversations with Gary and the overall comfortable sitting room and dinning room they provide for the guests. We stayed in a very nice room on the 2nd floor and every detail was well taken care of. We stayed at the Oakwood...

“We liked the Linden with a fully renovated bathroom.”

“We stayed in the Lane Room. It was small but worked for us as all we did was sleep. I will note that there is a claw foot tub and the way the shower curtain hangs it can be a bit tight to shower. Did not bother me as I only need hot water :)”

“My only caveats to a couple deciding on a room at this inn has to do with the tub and TV. This particular room has a historical clawfoot tub which is too small for a couple to use together and the TV is located in a very awkward spot making it fine for catching the news, but not the greatest for watching a movie in bed.”
