Captain Roy and Annick are very hospitable hosts at The Captains' Quarters. They have always been very gracious and are more than happy to answer any questions. The downstairs salon is comfortable for entertaining and the rooms are very well appointed. During the summer months the rooms on the front side of the B&B might be a bit warmer because of the amount of sunlight those rooms get, but in the cooler months the big windows looking onto Broad Street are great.

I stay in a lot of INN's and this by far was one of my best weekends. Roy made me feel like a local. The room was great clean and the bed was so soft. I can't say anything bad about my stay there.

We have used Bed and Breakfasts throughout Europe and the US. Annick and Roy our hosts made us feel we were old friends coming home to their laid back quaint Key West style surrounings. Our three day stay in the suite was very comfortable and breakfast two mornings were enjoyed on their wrap around porch. Annick a native of Paris France prepared tasty quiches typical of that country. The third morning we were escorted to a lovely Oriental marina for a relaxing breakfast on deck at the Oriental Deli Bistroat. Room rates include breakfasts.Listening and sharing their stories of quaint Oriental was filled with fun and interesting lore.Sleeping accomodations were very clean and comfortable and the beds made sleep a pleasure.Our teenagers had access to house computer and the internet. and free nationwide telephone connections..

Characters and stories make you feel like an insider in no time. Upgraded without request due to a mixup on the room. Definitely will stay again and again....Biked all through town and never used my car until I left.

I needed to stay one night with my daughter and picked the Inn quite at random ( and looked clean on website). It is a renovated old Victorian in a quaint, quiet sailing town. Our room had a comfortable clean bed ( I am picky). The bathroom was fine but nothing fancy. Sitting on the porch was enjoyable- for a simple breakfast and in afternoon. The owner was helpful and welcoming.

Stayed at Captain's Quarters in June '09 with my spouse and was pleasantly surprised by the b&b's beauty, inside and out. Located just a couple minutes walking distance to the river, this old house has been renovated by the owners and is beautifully appointed. Its lovely decor and grand wrap-around porch is a dream. Roy and Annick made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived and were terrific in helping us getting our bearings in Oriental. They also gave us full access to the kitchen, dining and living rooms which helped us feel comfortable staying there instead of being holed up in our bedroom. The bedrooms are a good size--so beautiful--each with their own bathrooms and a tv. Clean, too (not just our bedroom/bathroom, but the whole place). There isn't much of a nightlife in Oriental, so it's safe to say the b&b is undisturbed by street noise after dark. We stayed up until 11pm and could hear a pin drop outside. We enjoyed our breakfast on the porch and took in the feel of the quaint little town--very peaceful. Great experience. Very intimate. Roy is a great man to get to know, so take some time to talk with him if you can.

Have stayed at several bed and breakfast inns -- was disappointed with this one due to these facts: grass and outside area unkept -- needed mowing and sprucing up a bit; inside, our suite was quite clean and comfortable, but we've never stayed at a b & b that didn't include having our bed made and a change of towels -- bathroom needed repair also. There was no breakfast either morning -- we were told circumstances prohibited that from happening and were given a token to take to the local restaurant for our last morning, but the first morning there was just no one there, and no explanation until after the fact! Will be returning to Oriental this September -- will be trying another place to stay

This is an amazing B&B with extremely well-presnted rooms, fabulous cooked breakfasts, great early morning coffee (very welcome!), reasonable prices, free wi-fi, air conditioning and off-road parking.

My wife and I found the room very comfortable and clean. Shower was hot and strong. It was nice and quite, although I suspect it would be noisy in the summer, it is on the main road. Price is very reasonable.

NO contact with host until a chance encounter the first morning of a three day stay (Fri-Sat-Sun). NO breakfast! NO coffee, muffins, quiches, egg casseroles, fresh fruits or any other fare from anywhere. Dirty dishes in dishwasher along with the requisite crawling bugs. Television did not provide local stations or basic broadcast channels. Bathroom amenities consisted of two small sample bottles of an un-named shampoo. Transparent toilet tissue. NO drinking glass. NO change of towels over a three night stay. NO apology. NO valid excuse.
