The hotel is very nice and located right on the water so it is nice to look at all the boats docked there. We were traveling by bus with a large group and on the evening of our arrival were told that breakfast was included. Many of our group then met up in the breakfast area the next morning before boarding the bus. We had to give our names at the desk as we entered the room and we assumed that was so only registered guests had access to the available breakfast. Some of the group had breakfast, some only coffee or juice or yogurt cup. After we all boarded the bus, a rep from the hotel came out and called off our names instructing us to go to the front desk to pay $15 each for our breakfast. We couldn't argue that many of us did not eat a full breakfast as we would have been holding up the bus so we paid and left. There is no signage at the desk where the woman took our names, nor did she mention there would be a charge of $15. I'm a Hilton Honors member and this was not something I expected from this chain. If you want to restrict patrons via how much you charge per room then hand out breakfast vouchers as many of the hotels do and present signage stating there is a $15 charge for breakfast. That was one of the most expensive coffees ever!

Pros: Great Location right on the river and within walking distance of downtown. We had a 4th floor suite with a balcony and enjoyed the view of all the boats and bridges. Plenty of space for my family of 5. comfortable beds, nice complementary toiletries from Crabtree&Evelyn, shower was hot.
Cons: the on-site bar was way overpriced! my husband and I wanted to toast our anniversary with a beer each and it cost $16 for the 2 of us. :( They have an outdoor pool but didn't see it advertised anywhere that they did not open it until Memorial day weekend. However, they did allow us to go to their sister hotel about 10 minutes away to jump in their indoor pool, which was nice and refreshing after walking around all afternoon.
Overall: the cost of the room seemed a bit pricy for our stay so not sure I would return.

Very Rude Hotel Manager. For the last two years I stay at this hotel for 30 days last summer. For this summer manager had no sympathy for a loyal customer and hung up the phone on me when I asked for a better rate. This hotel has new owners and wants to charge from $300 to $400 a night, they like they are the 1 Hotel in Miami Beach.

SO, I am rating 5 stars because of my experience with one of your front desk agents named Justin. I am sorry to say that I was there because my Dad was in the hospital close by. I was there during Memorial Day weekend, and although my room looked like it could use a good cleaning and some repair work, Justin's face and demeanor made all the difference in my stay. I even heard Justin call an Uber for a few bar patrons who had over indulged a bit. The charge going to Justin's own Uber account! Hilton, this is what you want in an employee. The guest came first, with a smile on his face. He ran to greet me whenever I arrived and he somehow managed to make my miserable reason for visiting, a bit more pleasant. I cannot thank Justin enough for that.

We have used this hotel for years with different alliances, Sheraton, HiIton. We do a valentines getaway each year and are back in New Bern. We love the location with the marina and easy walk into town. The parking is certainly a plus for those of us with larger vehicles. Inside the Hotel is fresh, clean and very contemporary. Our room like wise was modern, clean, plenty of plugs and a view of the marina. The only caveat was low water pressure in the shower. Fiddling with shower valve on the tub made sure all the water was getting to the shower head. Once I had good seal it was fine. Would recommend to family, friends or you.

This hotel is top of the line for service! Starting with Caleb at the front desk who offered information about local eating within walking distance and ending with the hospitality staff that prepared and served our food during a conference I attended. And the location is absolutely breathtaking! Views of the river can be seen from some of the rooms and if not your room, head down to the bistro and eat dinner or sip wine on the deck.

We ended my Birthday Getaway staying at the Doubletree Hilton in New Bern NC. Upon arrival, we were immediately impressed by the view of the Hotel on the river and marina. A postcard image of what was to only get better and better . The hotel is located directly on the river and the river walk which encompasses the entire historic downtown of shops , restaurants and historical homes and historical landmarks. The hotel location makes it walkable and bicycle accessible to take in all of that it has to offer. During our stay The Festival of Mums flowers was in progress with flower displays throughout the downtown area. Our room overlooking the river and marina made it a spectacular view and daily enjoyable sunrise offering. We found every encounter with hotel staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast provided was very well supplied and maintained. This Hilton property is very maintained and well worth consideration when visiting New Bern, NC

Breakfast was great and Tonya & Tylee were attentive and friendly. The breakfast area is immaculate with a wide variety to choose from as well as hot stocked coffee. A good breakfast is a much appreciated way to start the day!

I have always really enjoyed staying at this Hilton despite the fact that some of the rooms have seen better days. In the past six months, I have stayed with them four times. I once had to switch rooms because something was wrong with the air conditioning in one room; as a result, the floor was flooded. But most recently, my trip was going really well (the people who work at the Hilton make it a great place to stay; everyone is friendly and accommodating), but in the morning when I took a shower, the water spurted out suddenly and it was scalding hot, unbearably hot. Even turning it down to cold/cold, it was burning hot. I went downstairs and told the front-desk attendant and this is where I feel the hotel failed. She said, "I'm really sorry about that." Working in the service industry, I can assure you that I would've tried to make the situation right. I said, "I got burned. I couldn't get the shampoo out of my hair. It was really hot," and she said again, "I'm so sorry about that. Have a nice day." I felt like the incident was brushed over and ignored. I certainly would've offered some way to make up for the occurrence. I'm a Hilton Honors member, and I always stay in Hiltons, that one in particular, but I doubt I'll be staying there again. I have written glowing reviews about this same property, so it's just very disappointing.

We found this property lacked basic amenities. We reserved a riverview room with a balcony and found there was no furniture available on the balcony. Staff said the furniture was destroyed in a storm and replacement furniture was on backorder. Well, in the interim, the hotel could at least buy some inexpensive outdoors chairs for the balconies so guests could at least use the space!! Also, there were no ice machines. Guests had to go to the reception area and get bagged ice and take it back up to their room. There were no refrigerators in the rooms. The breakfast was served under Covid preventative measures. The female staff member in the breakfast room was sullen and rude. There were only two luggage carts which were continuously unavailable while we were departing. On a positive note, the property was well located on the water and in the downtown historic area, the beds, pillows, and linens were good. There was a bar with a nice outdoor patio adjacent and it was open until 10pm. We noticed a Courtyard by Marriott hotel nearby which looked a lot newer and was also on the water. That might be a better option to consider.

Yes. We had a microwave in our room in addition to a fridge and a coffee maker. We stayed in a riverfront corner suite which is larger than the standard rooms and included free, made to order breakfast. Extremely nice accommodations. Would highly recommend staying there.
It appeared that all of the rooms had Juliette balconies. The glass doors were sliding doors, not French doors. The balcony was wide enough to stand on, but not large enough to place a chair. The room we stayed in did not have a Whirlpool tub, so I believe that is something you would need to request.

According to their website there is a $50 dep. and 50 lb weight limit. I'm not sure how strict they are with the weight limit, we have 2 Goldendoodles - 65 & 75 lbs. but didn't take them with us.
There are more places to choose from in the New Bern area.
