This unit was a great size for our family of 6. The unit was fairly clean but could use a deep clean. The furniture really needs updating. The couch sinks & TV has no HD so picture was distorted. The main office closes at 5 which was not convenient if u needed something. However, I emailed that a frying pan was not useable & they came the next morning with a new one. Despite this, we had a great time. They provide 2 bikes & u could rent more. Place to rent kayaks, paddle boards & fishing rods on property. Reasonable rates! Tennis courts, volleyball courts, basketball courts & pools close & in good shape. Short drive to downtown New Bern.

Great location and wonderful staff ready to help you out. Bedding needs some upgrade to be comfortable for the guests and the maintenance crew should keep the outside of the unit clean (lots of spider webs and insects).
There is a lot of potential here and I intend on return sometime in the future, but that is assuming improvement on the bedding and exterior cleanliness.

We had a great view and nice rooms. The place was mostly clean, we found dead roaches in the sliding door tracks, and had ants in the kitchen. The pools were nice. There was nothing else to do at the resort. No place for any food, all the restaurants were closed.

Where should I start. We arrived to a unique standalone townhome with the anticipation of a really nice stay. Before sunset we walked the grounds and enjoyed it. This is the one and ONLY pleasant experience we had the entire 7 days we occupied the unit. As the sunset our (what should have been relaxing and pleasant vacation), mind you after flying in from the west and the not so inexpensive airfare, literally turned into the most uncomfortable vacation we have ever had. Not only was the unit dingy, dated, moldy and unclean the water pressure was zero, the stove burner was broken, there were no coffee filters nor a small amount of salt and pepper, but these are just superficial things. I mention them because they are typically just a part of an RCI stay and the high maintenance fees we pay to receive these small accommodations. The real point that needs to be addressed to emphasize how uncomfortable our stay was is the amount of roaches we saw daily. We are by no means precious, growing up in Florida we know about roaches, this is simply a case of not keeping up on pest control which also ties into the expensive maintenance fees vacationers pay. Sleeping with the lights on in the entire unit, including the bedrooms surely makes for an uncomfortable stay. As well as having your head on a swivel looking out for them crawling on the ceilings when you are trying to relax with family and friends. Relaxation never happened during our stay at all. Finally, and luckily we had showered in our Raleigh hotel our first evening because the hot water in the unit was ridden with rotten egg smell. When we called the front office we were told to open the water lines and it would go away. Again, clearly these units are dated and perhaps call for new water heaters, which again could be rectified with the every year increased maintenance fees vacationers pay. The Northern Carolina coast is a beautiful and wonderful place to visit, it is too bad that the place we stayed had to tarnish our first visit to the NC coast.

Cockroach bodies are evident when we first entered the unit. We complained to the check-in staff re this who stated that Orkin was supposed to take care of it. During our stay we killed another 18-20 cockroaches. Also red spider mites were on the counters & bedding. The unit had a utility room, containing the laundry appliances and bikes, underneath in the "pedestal" but our keys to it didn't work. We complained to the check-in staff and were given a 2nd set of keys which also didn't work. When we again complained about it, we were told that a maintenance person would come unlock the door for us but no one ever came to give us access.

My husband and I exchanged for this property through RCI, which we've been member for 36 years. Usually we get outstanding accommodations but time was not the case. We reserved this property in January and did not get vacation insurance I found some not so good reviews posted months after I reserved and hoped that these people were rare incidents, but I was wrong. The place was not clean at all. The furniture was filthy and stained. The dishes needed rewashing before use. The appliances were outdated. But the kicker were the dead cockroaches found in the laundry room as well as the live ones found in our unit. Absolutely appalling. I will never recommend nor will I ever go there again. The area was nice; the resort not so much.

There were cockroaches and ant all throughout the the townhouse. We had to call the front desk after arriving to move units as there was a cockroach on the bed. The units themselves were pretty outdated which is unusual for a time share resort. There was an ant problem so we constantly had to make sure the dishes were clean as they would be crawling on the freshly washed dishes in the morning. The ant and cockroach issue killed the appetite and fun of the trip. The unit also had a musty smell along with all the furniture. I expected more from a BlueGreen Property as I have stayed in a lot of their other ones over the years and this is definitely the worst. Wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to this location. Also asked for fresh linens such as towels and wash clothes and was told it would be a $65 fee to have fresh linens. My family travels a lot and we have never been charged for needing fresh linens. The front desk location even smelt musty and old. It also was not well kept on the inside either. Would stray away from this location if all possible.

I think the title is clear but it doesn't tell the whole story. This place looks like it was built in the early 90's and never updated. The furniture is stained and completely worn out. The couch and loveseat you sink into so far the rails cut off the circulation in your legs, the only way to sit on them is to move the cushion forward and sit on that on the front rail. All of the fabric items are stained from the couch pillows to the sheets on the beds. The walls are stained black around the door handles and door frames. The refrigerator door handle has never been cleaned on to and there were filth lines along the seal and mold under the glass covering the crisper drawers inside. The fireplace works but the bricks above it have never been cleaned from the looks of it. The shower and tub both and black mold around the seams and the drains and fixtures are corroded and stained. the microwave and stove were dirty as well and one stove element didn't work until I repaired it. Many of the items on the inventory list were also not there, there was no cutting board so cutting veggies and other things was difficult. The area is not bad and there are things to do when Covid is not a problem. We spent most of our time enjoying outside activities like hiking in parks and going to the beach. I have had my timeshare and been trading through RCI since 1987 and this is in the top 2 for worst facilities. They did provide a complementary fire log but nothing to light it with.

These units are very outdated and in in need of a total upgrade. While the towels and linens were clean, the cabinets and doors all need a cleaning. The kitchen appliances are very old-coil burners on the stove! I'm not even sure the dishwasher was still capable of cleaning dishes. The furniture was stained, and the carpeting also needs to be replaced. I'm not even sure the wiring in the laundry room was up to code. The staff were pleasant, and the area is beautiful. The money it cost us to stay here was not worth it. We have stayed here before, and the unit was nice. This was disappointing.

The location is amazing, lots to do for kids and adults: bikes in the unit, swimming pools, indoor and outdoor, volleyball, basketball, mini golf, fishing and just watching sunset from 2 balconies. Kids enjoyed the vacation very much. If unit would be upgraded it would be our every year vacation spot.

There were signs posted at the water just a few miles south in Wilmington so I would assume gators might be anywhere in the wild around this area. Probably not but keep alert.

On the property there is a restaurant near the docks. I did not use it. The closest grocery store is a Food Lion about 6 miles away and it is adequate. There is a Walmart about 10 miles away. New Bern is a nice area with several good restaurants and gift shops. I do not know about hiking trails but there is a walking path around the lake that the condos are on.
The pool area is nice with both an indoor pool and hot tub as well as an outdoor pool.
There are more places to choose from in the New Bern area.
