The resort needs updated. The unit itself has an old zacuzzi tub. The shower of the master bath did not have adequate pressure. The unit was not as clean as Wyndham properties we have used. The kitchen has an older dishwasher and the cook ware and bake ware need replaced.

We loved the layout of the condo: full service kitchen, dining and living areas. More bedrooms than we needed! Great view and close by New Bern for exploring that quaint town. The community included a marina and lovely pathway around pond. Great for walking and relaxing.

The Condo was a 2 bedroom w/ loft. The unit is dated and needs upgrades. There was a soil bed where plants were, however no plants were there just the soil (this needs to be removed or repurposed for something else). The twin beds in the loft were awful, no support. The mattress is outdated and literally sits on the floor.

Our recent stay at Sand Castle Village II was a great disappointment. The facility has not been renovated in decades. The beds were extremely uncomfortable (one box spring broken causing the sleeper to roll off the bed), the vacuum cleaner smelled bad, the broom looked 50 years old. Additionally, when we checked in at the VRI property management office, our reservation was not on their records. When we told them it was an RCI reservation, they commented that RCI never notifies them of the reservations. They found our reservation by going to the RCI site. We were fortunate that there was a unit to be had. They gave us their “Reserve” unit as all the other units were occupied or otherwise unavailable. The management office also told us – after we complained about the beds – that the facility had not been renovated in 40 years. There was nothing in the reviews or other site description to indicate that the facility was lacking modern amenities. A few years ago, we stayed across the street at Fairfield Harbor. It was an excellent facility but there was no walk-way around the pond. Sand Castle Village II has a nice boardwalk around the pond so we choose that facility this year. The points used were about the same, but Sand Castle Village II would not have been worth one-tenth the points. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. I would rather stay at a Motel 6 where at least I know the bed will not roll me to the floor.

Our 35th anniversary vacation starts with a 10 hour drive from GA to North Carolina. Was not a bad drive, we were lucky. We had called to alert of a late check-in, no problem. We arrived about 8:30pm, got our temporary keys and arrived at the condo. Not impressive from the outside, but when we got inside, first glance for me was wow (remember, I said me). This is a 3 story, 3 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom, full kitchen, a Jacuzzi and sauna near the master bedroom, living room, washer/dryer, balcony with view of a man made lake, flat screen tv in each room, right, so that's the impressive side I saw. My wife on the other hand (who booked this online based on the photos from the website) saw something completely different, [and this was upon entering]. She immediately felt uncleanliness. She [as S.O.P., every where we stay] checked each and every room, and pointed out [of which I took photos of everything I am mentioning ] bathrooms not cleaned, grime on the shower faucets, film on the showers walls as well as rings in the bathroom sinks and shower drainage, mold in the shower corner and on the baseboard, carpets felt like they had not been vacuumed or not very well, in general, not something you would expect from a Timeshare., and so she refused to stay. I convinced her to because it's 10pm and we have nowhere to go. In the meantime, other problems I checked on like the refrigerator did not work [had meds needing refrigeration], nor the freezer, the dryer did not dry ( I had some wet stuff to dry) some of the lights didn't turn on. The beds were small and not very comfortable as were the pillows, but we managed, well i did, my wife stayed up all night on the couch using her travel clothes as a cover because she refused to sit on the cushion ( which has a giant ring stain on back cushion and smaller ones on seat cushion) directly. All in all a total disaster. On the positive side, the oven and microwave did work, [as there were no places to eat, I went to the truck stop and bought a frozen dinner to heat up and eat], there were towels and shampoo, etc. the tv's worked [thank goodness]. So this morning we are checking out [booked for 7 nights, stay 1) and search for a hotel for a night and then back to GA. What a remeberable 35th anniversary vacation. It would be safe to rate this as a 3 out of 10 simply because of the layout only, nothing else really impressed me, my wife rates 0 out of 10, she's hardcore when it comes to accommodations.

Unfortunately, this was not a good memorable experience. We checked in late so were not able to actually meet with associates. Our room appeared to be old and in desperate need of an update. Furniture was old, dirty and ripped cushions on couch. Bedroom sheets did not fit and attempts to get replacements never transpired. cabinets looked to be very very old, worn and dirty. we were concerned about cleanliness - especially during this Covid issue. My wife took wipes to wipe down every thing and was even concerned about using the bathroom. I have never had to make a review like this before.

broken lock on sliding door, controls didn't work on living room AC (it cooled but couldn't control anything but off or on), furniture in living room completely worn out, unit very outdated (has anything been updated since this was built??) sliding door screens, one full of holes, the other didn't work.. etc.etc.etc. LOTS of stairs to get to second floor unit. on the good side, the beds were comfortable enough and the linens and towels were in good / clean shape. nice view of the marina!

This was our first stay at Sandcastle Village II. We are Bluegreen owners and have been spoiled by our BG resorts. We were a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews. First the check in location is 5 miles from the resort. We checked in and Gabrielle was great, she was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Opening our door to our unit all that apprehensions was replaced with excitement. The unit was spacious, clean and looked very comforting. The unit has five levels. First level is the foyer with half bath. Second level has a really spacious dining room, living room and kitchen. Out side sliding glass door was the deck and a beautiful view of the lake. Third level had master bedroom and bathroom. On this level is washer, dryer and jacuzzi. Fourth level bedroom with private bathroom. Fifth floor is the loft with two single beds. Each unit has its own parking area and all essentials, I.e.. Linen, towels, kitchen utensils etc. There is a nice walking path around the lake. Inside was really nice, we had two minor maintenance issues which did not affect our stay in one bit. Met Duffy of maintenance and he was very friendly and helpful. So not sure where the people stayed that had such a bad experience (based on previous reviews), but we had a very positive experience and plan to return in the future. Only drawback is indoor pool was closed due to covid. Great resort and great staff. Checkout our photos.

We enjoyed our very spacious unit which allowed my family to have their own space to go to when needed. The pool was clean and we enjoyed it on the 4th. Although we did not participate in the activities on the 4th or during the week, there was always something scheduled. The walking path allowed us to take a short-cut to the pool. We loved to go to the pond (?) and watch the geese and turtles. The property is about 15 minutes away from a "store" but it is an easy ride and then you have access to anything and everything.

Don't stay here! Unless you like rundown accommodations, outdated and dirty furniture. Had to clean room as it had cobwebs throughout as if no one had stayed there in a long time. No water pressure. Water is horrible - sulfur smell. Shower heads had brown stains on them. Hair dryer didn't work so unplugged it and outlet was black (fire hazard). They had to replace both. Only one smoke alarm in 3 level unit - I'm thinking that's not up to code so I reported to NCDOJ. Outside was bad too. Deck didn't look like it had been swept or cleaned in months. All the outside deck boards and boards leading to walking path are old and horrible shape with nails sticking through, all need replacing (safety hazard). If going to New Bern do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else as this place is horrible!
