We stayed in Building #3 room(s) 35 AB. It was very clean and roomy with a golf course view. This unit has recently been updated. I neglected to bring my golf clubs because my wife doesn't golf and I regretted that decision every day. The course looked incredible and was very affordable. Unfortunately it rained 4 out of our six days there. so the vacation was a bust...no fault of the resort.

We stayed in the SandCastle rooms for a family vacation. Although the room was very spacey (3 floors) the rugs and furniture were not clean. We did find roaches towards the end of the week or else I would’ve changed rooms or left if it were sooner. I called the front desk and she said we will spray when we left the following morning and she did apologize. My main point here is the RCI /Wyndham usually charge maintenance fees to their timeshare clients and I would be thoroughly upset if I was a part of their program. The picture attached is of a roach and dirt behind the washer/dryer unit.

This resort is a joke. They never have the units up to our cleanliness standards, and they constantly have nothing available. We own a timeshare and have maybe stayed there five times in the almost 50 years we have owned. Talk about a waste of time and money.

This Wyndham is awful. There are six air conditioning compressors on the roof right next to our bedroom. I have not had a decent nights sleep since we checked it, the noise is unbelievable. The rooms have not been undated since being built. The dining room table is peeling, the heating elements on the stove are raised up about three inches, oh , if you are put in an upstairs unit, there isn't any help with getting your supplies up the two flights of steps.

This was very dated resort. Coffee pot was filthy. I had to ask for a new one. The microwave was disgustingly stained. Ask for newly renovated rooms. Hopefully those are better. There were cockroaches in our first room that were dead. We were moved to another room that I would say it was just tolerable.I cannot wait to come home and shower. We were only there for two nights, And spent most of the time outside of the room. Therefore, we were able to survive the dirt.As dirty as the rooms were, the outdoor surroundings were very pretty and well taken care of; The activities staff was wonderful as a plus.

A surprising relaxing getaway!! We stayed a week & only wish I had weeks or months to spare!!! The staff is extremely friendly. The "rooms" are very clean & spacious. Lots of walking trails, lagoons, fishing, swimming & MORE! Nearby shopping & dining options are just minutes away. New Bern is DEFINITELY on my return list, many times over!!!!!

My wife had a business trip to New Bern and selected this 'hotel' although its listed on another site as Fairfield Harbour Guest Rooms there. (Same location/photo as TripAdvisor). To 'check in' we had to call 15 minutes prior to arrival so someone could meet us outside the building. Its about a 10 mile circuitous drive from the center of New Bern. I dropped my wife at her meeting and drove to the site. I was met by the husband/wife manager team and shown to the room. Strange room... semicircular, not a picture on the wall(s), no curtains just cheap blinds on the numerous ground floor windows, no phone, no desk/chair (well there was a small table but it had the fridge and microwave on it, tiny bathroom with a dirty toilet. The manager saw my look of dismay and said I could cancel. I pointed out that we had booked the room and prepaid through a travel site which makes refunds nearly impossible. He began arguing with me that I SHOULD cancel and was semi-abusive. Strange. That night I noticed that most of the lights on the outside walkway were out. I never saw another guest other than one couple staying on their boat (nice marina). There was supposed to be a 'breakfast' but we never could find it. Went into New Bern and had a great breakfast on Middle street at the Bakery.

Unbeknownst to we simple individuals, there are two management associations at Fairfield Harbor. We were unaware at time of booking as the check location is not the same as we had before visited. Buried in the reservation as shown in the extract below were instructions for checking in at a VRI (?) address: arrangements.
• Reservations booked in the VRI association should check in at 1141 Broad Creek Road, New Bern, 8 a.m to 5 p.m Mon-Thur and 8 a.m to 7 p.m. Fri-Sun. After hours call 252-633-1151.
No where in our reservation where we told that our check in location was VRI. WE found out the hard way having to drive a six mile round trip to back track to the above location from where we thought we would check in. Upon check in we found the unit to be very poorly maintained, for example, missing parts from fridge, sliding door to deck was so clogged that maintenance had to be called in, just needed a thoroughbred cleaning, truly filthy windows, in house telephones did not work, wooden stairway hand rails had dangerous nail Head pops and splinters. Maintenance’s staff did not have even the simplest tool to tighten a single lever faucet at the kitchen sink. Street signs were impossible to see in the dark and were not much better in daylight.
Finally, if Wyndham is going to book the VRI through their web site Wyndham must indicate which association is the check in location. As well as “ encouraging” VRI to improve maintenance along with staff training.
This visit was truly deplorable, we should be reimbursed for this trip as well as returning our purchase price or allow us to return our weeks at this location with out penalty. We would gladly accept a return of the weeks as we are clearly paying outrageous maintenance fees that only benefit Wyndham and not their customers.

The rooms were extremely outdated and poorly maintained. There were stains in the tubs, a leaky facet, burnt out lights, wifi wasn't working and large cockroaches. We were asked to attend a free lunch for participating in a "survey." We mentioned all the issues and didn't even receive an apology.
